For anyone that was still unsure about The Raconteurs breaking up The White Stripes, it's not going to happen. Jack White has stated that he likes the challenge The White Stripes gives him and all the other members have their own band/solo career anyway.

They need another album. The way they were recieved by MTV and everyone else is a sign that they would do well to make another.

Yep, from what it seems the second Raconteurs album will be coming out before a new White Stripes album, but we shall see. ;D

this was found at candycanechidren.com that someone posted.
"Bigger groups, such as the White Stripes, for example, now have more negotiating power. The rock duo is working on an album due out this summer, but its contract with V2 Records has expired. Ian Montone, the band's manager, says the White Stripes are looking to sign a deal that covers only production and distribution, rather than a traditional label relationship.
"The tide has turned for some artists," says Mr. Montone, who manages musicians with label deals as well as others with more unconventional arrangements. "I wouldn't rule out a traditional label completely. But I'm trying to flip the label relationship to make it, 'What does the label do to earn the money that we pay them?'"
