Alright, so the thread has been dead for quite some time, sooo how about a little bit of a funeral type service...

The Lick It thread will be missed. Just say any kind words about the original thread, fond memories...

*chuckles* I always thought you came up with the name of the place yourself, not looked it up on a t-shirt...

geez, I cant even remember what I was origionally going to call it...something to do with rivers, or streams I think...

I wasn't there for very long at all before it was shut down...
It was great though.
When I mentioned out of frustration that I was only 100g from my quest, someone from there donated.

I also met my obsession and my master there.

Yeah, the Lick It thread pulled me and my girlfriend together too. We had been best friends throughout life... but we never knew the other was bi. So, it was a shock to us both... But we finally decided, "hey we're perfection together."

I was a regular at Lick it... I'd been there from page 5, to page million. XD I miss it, and it pissed me off when I found out about it being shut down.

I remember the day I decided to create my own thread. I was tired of being in the les/bi/gay bar and having to thread so that many posts so quickly, finding the girls more interested in girls and avoiding the guys. All the other bars I had been in had been closing down that month, slowing down and dying on the back pages of the chatterbox forums.

The first poster was Milk, and from the beginnings of Lick it I remember a few people, though at this point their screennames have been lost to me, and probably to themselves as well. To this day I still cant believe how well it did, and I thought it would become a memorable thread on gaia.

I wish I still had the origional layouts from the first several posts, and the stats I was smart enough to remember to take down about how many pages and how many replies people had made, how long it was up and running, the loyal regulars to Lick it and those who continuously posted in it even during the few weeks or months when I was gone...but the data I did remember to save was lost when my computer had to be wiped at the start of another school year, and I didnt check my data disk that it had burned properly *sadsigh*

I remember Milk, with the dancing milk carton bump as the origional first poster to the thread, property of sky, working on the couples avatars and when Nygeel came up with the names and they were the first real poll Lick it had. I remember being an advertiser whore for days in all the other bi/les/gay topics I could find, hoping I wouldnt be banned when people reported me sweatdrop xd I wanted it to be successful, and eventually it managed to become self-sufficent and continuously have its own people posting inside it.

I was hoping it would rival kittythekats thread, where Lick it got its start...it did, I think, though the post count will never be as high.

I remember the couch orgy of page 118, when we all decided to watch a movie on the couch, which somehow managed to fit...geez...it had to have been 8-20 girls xd I just remember everyone piled on top of one another, and none of us able to choose a scary movie.

I would stay up all day during holidays and weekends on Lick it, being my moddy self making sure people kept it around pg-15 if I couldnt get it lower, hoping there would be enough pages to hide what cybering did happen in my thread so I wouldnt have to go through the trouble of deleting a part of Lick it history ((there's a few pictures hidden in there too sweatdrop )) talking and meeting people, making friends and getting lost in the various love triangles this thread seemed so outrageously good at creating sweatdrop There was a reason my password for gaia at one point was lovesquares, though they were more like love hexagons with various people sweatdrop

And of course who could forget the Naito HQ, the guild set on getting our thread removed to "make gaia a better place."

I found out a while ago from a moderator that Lick it was shut down because it had been reported so many times for Pg-13 violations that they just immediatly locked and trashed it. To this day I dont know if it was justified, or why I was never warned beforehand. The Mod I asked never returned that PM.

If I remember more I'll post again, but here's what I've come up with...the creator looking back on her life within Gaia, the good and the bad, the loss of her child thread, as well as other things. It seemed a proper time to post this.

You know, Lick It was amazing. I wasn't there from the beginning, but being there when I could was just the best times of my life. I met some very cool girls there that I could never forget. You and everyone else who decided to help Lick It bloom did a wonderful job about it. Yet, I think this guild could be just as good or better than the thread. I believe it could. Self-fulfilling prophecy, lurve... That's all I have to say.

This guild will be great. It is great! This guild has replaced the Coheed Guild I used to post in all the time. Now I come here when I get on Gaia. You're amazing Ryvn. Everything you've done is just amazing.

*she smiles and nods* Yea, the lick-it thread was where I first started seriously considering I was bi, and later lesbian, as I realized I didn't like guys, but just put up with them because I didn't know any better. 4laugh

And I still have the Lick It forum in my subscribed threads, a memorial to the memory lost.
