ok well this is coming strate from Ozzy (by the way Ozzy's real name is (John Michael Osbourn) any way there first name was "EARTH". they got the name Black Sabbath from an old horror flick named Black Sabbath and they where like wow people will pay money to get scerd and so "EARTH" made this song *Black Sabbath* and so the name suck in there heads and so they changed there name to *Black Sabbath*.

The song Black Sabbath was originally written because Tony woke up in a drug-induced trip and saw a gremlin-like demon at the foot of his bed with blazing red eyes staring at him. It scared the crap out of him, and told Ozzy about it the next day. They then wrote the song in an attempt to scare people, because that's what Sabbath was all about. Thanks to Metal documentaries on VH1...4 hours at work with nothing to do....oh yeah!

i knew if formed the name with something like that bt i really didn't know the detail and as for the song "black sabbath" i knew why it was writen
