The smaller, circular room commonly known and used as the Marina Dormitory common room is lavishly decorated. There is a large, hand-made wooden table. Carved into the table's surface are intricate patterns and designs, all without error, as if it could only have been made by a being of divine stature. Four great, crimson couches with thick, lucious cushions revolve around this table.

At the opposite end of the room, opposite of the doorway that is, is a stone fireplace, in which flames constantly burn and flow, life-like. There are works of art, paintings created by the finest the land had to offer, most of which being scenes of the countryside. Hanging several feet above the door are two white, flowing banners (add dormitory symbol, since I'm not sure which one it is), and this also applies to the space above the fireplace. Also above the fireplace, in between the banners, is a large, beautifully decorated shield accompanied by two finely crafted blades of steel.

There are other tables decorating the room, and these tables are accompanied by chairs, all of them cushioned. There is a kitchen behind a long counter, where food is placed for students. The atmosphere of the dormitory common room is warming, and welcoming.

((Comes from Lake))

Pell walked into the common room. He took off his hat and gloves, setting them on the floor and sitting next to them in front of the fire. Since he had just been through his first class in fire magic he decided to practice a bit. He held out his hand to the flames and slightly twisted and bent them to his personal pleasure.

(( From This))

Hanille's black robe swayed behind her as she made way down the steps and on towards the common room. She made sure to lift her hood above her head, just in case this "guest" happened to be unfriendly. She was the only one selected for this dormitory...right...?

Her lips moved as soft whispers of prayer slipped from her throat and out of her mouth. When she arrived at the bottom of the stairs, she realized that she wouldn't be needing the prayers as much as she had believed. The elven boy from her previous class was standing by the fireplace, playing with the flames. Did he notice her? Well, he was bound to notice her eventually...

"H...hello..." she said shyly, voice soft, "You're room resides in this dormitory too...?"

Hanille bit her lip, a little embarassed and nervous, waiting for a response.

Pell didn't even turn his head to the new person. "Yes. I reside in room 20." He rose the flames higher. Cooking strength. "So are you the only other person in this Dormatory or what?" He finally turned to face Hanille with a expression that seemed more grim than friendly.

From the elf's reaction, Hanille guessed that they probably wouldn't be getting along any time soon. Why did everybody seem to be the same? They were different...weren't they? Why weren't they different from the others?!

His words struck her rather harshly, and his expression wasn't very pleasant either. She should have just stayed up in her room.

"I don't know...I mean...I..."

She paused, not sure if she wanted to continue. Not much of a choice though, "I thought I was the only one here...but I guess you're here too, and if that's the case, it's possible that others are here too..."

If there were others here, she really hoped that they would be kind to her. Hanille quickly cycled through the people she had met so far today: a kind Herbology teacher, a bitter and cynical elf girl that seemed to like being the center of attention, a frightening woman that had assigned her an a** for a partner, a psychotic fire teacher that seemed to be bottling up her dark side, and now this elf...who didn't seem very pleased to meet her...

She tried to smile and lowered her hood. After that, she held out a pale, frail hand, "I'm...Hanille..."

Pell reached out his hand and the fire followed it out. He quickly pressed his other hand towards the fire and it regressed to the fireplace again. "Stay in your hole."

He grabbed her hand and finally smiled. "Sorry about that, I'm Pell and you're the first person I've actually met here outside of class." He seemed rather changed, his expression was now warm and inviting and he seemed much more the jolly individual. Although, it was now evident that he had no visible pigments now that his face was more lit by the fire.

((This is my last post for the night. I shall probably post much more tomorrow ^_^))

His handshake was firm. His eyes had changed into a more comforting, compassionate state, and he smiled sweetly too. Strange, how quickly he had changed. Perhaps his concentration was interfering, giving him strain, and now that 'twas broken, he was a much kinder person. Hanille's smile grew slightly.

"Very nice to meet you Pell...."

She wasn't sure what to say. Carrying on conversations with others was a challenge for Hanille, as she tried to remain quiet.

"So...what do you think of the academy...and the students? Did you like our fire professor?"

While she remained cautious, she allowed herself to open up to him a little more, trying to give him the same warmth he seemed to be giving her. Maybe she was wrong about him. She hoped she was wrong about him. Oh how nice it would be to finally have a friend, somebody she could talk to, and spend time with!

Pell shrugged. "It's definately better than home. I haven't gotten a chance to get to know much of the grounds and the professer ..." His thoughts drifted to his recolection of the professor. Big, bossy, bother. His face scrunched up before he answered "I didn't like the professor very much."

"What about you? How long have you been here, and well ... " He scratched the back of his head and smiled weakly. "Just about anything else too, I'm really just brand spankin' new here."

From his expression and manner, Hanille knew that Pell meant what he said about the professor. Indeed. There was something odd about that woman.

"I don't like the professor too much either...and I haven't gotten along with many of the students here...so far. I'm just as new as you are. I just got here today. In fact, I thought you had been here before me, yet, I see now that that couldn't be, as...oh nevermind..."

She felt a little foolish about what she had said. This would definitely have to change.

"I didn't see you in Non-Magical Self Defense class...be glad you missed it. The teacher of that class is an enormous woman, monsterous, ferocious, I'm scared to death of her!"

Should she leave out the part where she cried? Indeed, it seemed best to do so. She didn't want him thinking of her as weak, and stop talking to her. Many people at this school seemed to admire strength more than wits or passion. Just like the real world it seemed. Hanille sighed softly, "Would you...like to sit down...?"

She gestured towards one of the couches near the central table.

Pell cocked his head to the side at Hanille's offer. "I'm sure that you might find that more comfortable, but I'm more accustomed to sitting on hard surfaces." Sleeping too, but that doesn't exactly reflect well on the home ...

He turned back to the fireplace and began playing with the fire a little, curling a long string of flame out of the fireplace. However, a thought seemed to occur to him and he returned his attention to Hanille. "I wasn't really paying attention in class, so I'll have to ask. Are you able to do anything with fire? Magically speaking."

"Oh...I see..."

He liked harder surfaces? Odd. He had turned to the fireplace for a moment, and then turned to face her again. A question rolled off of his tongue, out through his lips, "Are you able to do anything with fire? Magically speaking."

Yes...'twas very apparent that he hadn't been paying attention. He had even been beside her! Nonetheless, Hanille shook her head, "No...not really know...my abilities reside with...well..."

She held out her hand and closed her eyes. For a moment, nothing happened. Then, droplets of water began to appear from her fingertips, and collect in her palm. Within moments, a large ball of water rolled about her hand. She played with it a little, letting it dance along her fingers. Then, it dropped to the floor, splashing once more into small drops.

"But I must drink a lot of water...lest I get dehydrated and die. Speaking of water...I am in dire need...do you know where I can get some...? By water, I mean clean water...drinkable water..."

Pell watched her make the ball of water at will. That's a nice trick. He turned his attention from the water back to Hanille. "I think that there's a kitchen in here, there'd have to be. I'll help you look." Then he mumbled, "But first."

It was one of his favorite childhood games, he molded the water left into a small soldier and forced it to march into the flames to its doom. He got up, suddenly becoming temporarily oblivious to Hanille in his kitchen search, and began pokeing around the doors.

Finally his efforts payed off as one of the doors opened into a kitchen. He turned back to Hanille. "Kitchen."

Hanille watched the soldier march to its fate. This boy liked to play god, no? He seemd to pay no attention to her as he looked around the room, opening doors and the like. Finally, he turned to her, "Kitchen."

"Well...he seems quite sweet...and helpful too..."

She smiled and approached, "That was awfully nice of you..."

Was this a trick? Was he leading her into a trap? Was he lying to her? What was his real plan? What was the real scheme of things? Hanille pushed the thoughts out of her head as she followed Pell into the kitchen.

Pell scanned the room. Sink, sink, sink ... His eyes finally fell upon a small sink in the left corner of the room. He pointed at it. "And there's a sink. It's no problem to help out, it's just what I do." He offered her a small smile.
