'Miss Tonks! Would you please pay attention!'
Karly snapped out of her day dream and turned towards Professor McGonagall. Or maybe she should says, Headmistress McGonagall. Yes, when Dumbledore snuffed it she became HEadmistress but refused to give up her Transfiguration teaching spot. Shame, really, Karly thought. She was never a favourite of McGonagall nor vice versa.
'Sorry Professor Headmistress.' She said automatically, knwoing she had jumbled the titles but didn't care. She knew McGonagall wouldn't either, she wasn't like that Umbridge woman.
'Headmistress Professor! Not Professor Headmistress! I am Headmistress before Professor! Remember that!'
Umbridge's voice still rang in her head.
'Now that Miss Tonks has chosen to pay attention,' she said smartly, looking at Karly at the 'pay attention' part, 'we will be working on…' Karly zoned out again, even though she had just gotten into trouble for it. She wasn't a poor, I-don't-care-about-my-education type of student, she was just extremely good at Transfiguration and everything they covered was a bore to her. McGonagall knew this but still insited she stay with her year and pay attention.
Karly sighed as she watched the other students point their wands at owl cages, mutter somethign and look hopefully at the cage, looking to see if it changed. Once she saw a cage open at the top, she knew what she had to do, and pointed her own wand at her cage.
'Fernenco' she muttered, and her cage opened at the top and formed a small fence.

Karly had Transfigured almost every student's owl cage for them by now, and no one noticed. She was sneaky like that. She'd just mutter the spell when the student did and they thought they did it by themselves.
She was about to Transfigure Esma Elopstein's when there was a knock at the door. Longing for something exciting to happen in this class, she swivled her head and looked at the door. Every student followed suit, and McGonagall looked up.
'Yes, come in,' She said slowly, in that no-nonesence voice of hers.
The door slowly opened. Karly was crawling with anticipation to see who it was, and thye weren't opening the door fast enough.
Prolly a first year, She though.
'You know, we may be big scary fourth years but we don't bite. You can open the door a little faster.' She called out. The class giggled in agreement, but McGonagall only sent a sharp look her way.
The visitor seemed to have decided that they were much scarier now, and stopped opening the door. After a few second it started opening again, even slower.
How slow can someone open a bloody door?!
Finally the door was open, but there wasn't a first year looking up at the class. There was a full grown whitch looking down at them. Her hair was long and silver, like a Veela's, and she looked to be slightly sickly.
The boys' mouths all hung open, and they seemed to be in a slight daze. Yup, defiantely part Veela. Luckily not full, otherwise they'd have to tell angry parents why their boys jumped out of windows or ran dabsmack hard against a stone wall.
The witch smiled a small smile, and said, 'Hello, Professor McGonagall. Been a while, hasn't it?'

Karly started at the witch the rest of the class.
Screw slightly sickly.
Not that Karly was able to see her properly she looked like she was falling apart. Literally.
She hoped this woman was in every Transfiguration class from now on. She could sit beside her and talk to her when she got bored. Which was always.
The bell brought her out of her world of staring. She left the class heading towards Divination wondering what on earth she was doing here.

Minerva left the classroom with Char after everyone was out,t hat alst one being Karly Tonks.
They started through the now crowded halls outside to Hagrid's hut, making small talk. Students left and right did double takes when they saw Char, but no one blamed them. Not every day you see someone with a decaying face.
'So, I noticed that Hogwarts has lost its living throb to it. It has a dead aura to it now.' Char noted.
'Yes. Since Albus passed, it's lost most of its warmth. And down in the dungeons its even colder than usual. Of course, I'm not all that surprised. That is where Severus lived during his time at Hogwarts, and now that he's commited that horrible act…' She trailed off.
'Ah, yes, Snape is the one who killed him, isn't he? Never liked him. Bloody git.'
Minerva didn't answer, knowing that if she opened her mouth she'd find herself agreeing.

Minerva sipped her tea, wondering what Char meant with a partner. She looked at Char questioningly, inwardly shivering when she could see her tea being swallowed.
That poor girl. Oh, I bet Albus could have figured out what it is, and fixed her.
Char put down her tea on the table and looked at them.
'I know what you're thinking. So don't bother asking, I'll explain.'

MEANWHILE.
Karly hated Divination.
All that guessing.
She liked things that one straight answer, or spell. Like Arithmancy and Charms.
Ignoring Trelawney's warning from last class, to 'stay away from windows as I see you falling out of one', she sat down beside the window and looked down seing McGonagall and the witch entering Hagrid's hut. Wanting very much to know what was going on in there, she kept watching in through the class, while she was supposed to be figuring out dreams or something like that. Obviously, as she couldn't make herself be in two places at once, the watching was in vain.

Minerva had just taken a gulp of tea when Char said she wanted to kill Voldemort. She nearly choked, and Hagrid had to pat her on the back.
'Charmain, that is too dangerous! I agree that he must be stopped, but you cannot have a Hogwarts student as a partner! They're only children!'
'Harry helped Dumbledore with the Horcruxes! I'm sure there's quite a few students who are capable as him and would jump at the idea.'
'That was different! Harry was The Chosen One, Voldemort's equal! That is why was was allowed to go. Besides, he had Dumbledore with him. Completely different matter.' Minerva argued.
'Minerva, as a professor, I would have ter agree with yeh. But, as a friend ter most of th' students here at Hogwarts I can think of many tha' would no' only be capable but would love ter go.'
Minerva there were capable students, and willign students at Hogwarts. But she was responsible for them, and if something happened it would be her fault. She didn't know if she could handle that weight on her shoulders.

Minerva pursed her lips and looked out the window. These days, she thought often about the school when Dumbledore ran it. She found herself thinking, 'What would Albus do?'
Well, that was obvious. Let whoever was willing and he thought was capable join.
But what about their education?
She reached a decision.
'Alright. BUT. They must be in their fifth year or above, and I must agree that they're capable. If there are to be any exceptions, they must be approved by all staff.'
