Do you guys think it is ok that the Prince of Tennis is coming to America, I don't think they should cuz i saw the first episode of Toonami Jetstreem and
1. the voices were skewered!
2. It didn't follow the manga well!!
3. then it ruined the whole feel of the Prince of Tennis!!!
What do you guys think!?!

the anime being dubed has nothing to do with it not goign wtih the manga. it was made in japan first and now dubed so dont go saying its the dubs fault it doesn't fit with the manga.

Yudan sezu ni ikou ore tachi wa mada mada...
I cried. Long and hard I cried. It was ruined. Yeah I know they put all that work into it and s**t, but if youre going to do something you should do something right. I cried when I heard how their names were pronounced, and I cried when they took away the opening theme. I love that song. I will be VERY mad if they took away the songs Kimeru sings. I will STAB SOMETHING if they did. And also I never see Ryoma's eyes properly. They dont look like how their supposed to, to me. I dunno maybe its just me.

They took away Kime's "You Got Game?"! gonk
I seriously think the voice casters really slack with anime. I mean, you watch something like Danny Phantom, and the voices for the characters will be awesome and fits the characters perfectly, but then you watch an anime dub and the level goes waaaaay down.

They have to get the licensing to broadcast it on the internet, or TV, especially if it's part of an official "thing". You have to remember that.
Plus, Toonami is trying to interest regular people, not just Anime-fans. and I know more than one person who'd be weirded out if they suddenly aired a Japanese song on an "English" show.
Money, money, trouble. That's why they took away "You Got Game".

I know it wasn't the best job that could have been done, but I don't think it was the worst either. I can still watch it, and I would buy it on DVD if it came with an uncut boxset like they did with Naruto. Besides, I'm happy about this because Prince of Tennis has a little more exposure now. I do admit, I miss Ryoma's "mada mada da ne" and I don't like the changing of the theme songs, but I can deal, maybe because I have them on my iPod anyways.
I still think it's the best how they pronounce Tezuka as "Te-ZOO-ka". It makes me think of Bazooka Bubble Gum and bazooka guns. Personally, I felt Oishi's voice was the best done. And yes, Shrocomemos, I love the "hot stuff" thing as well. xD

Yeah, I realize that, but I still miss it.
As for the Japanese music, look at the FMA dub. They kept the theme songs, but actually shortened the ending ones a bit. And FMA doesn't even take place in Japan, so non-anime fans would be confused about the language being there.

No, not every anime is horrible in English. And I'm hoping you understand enough Japanese before you say that, there are bad and unrealistic Japanese voices just as much as there are in English. I do hope that, if there is a DVD release it would have the original music on it. Wasn't it the same for the Naruto boxset, at least the uncut one, that they kept the Japanese music?
