[PRP-Reus] .: Eternity :. (Rose`s Evil Little Secret)

Like a princess locked away in the tallest tower of a castle, Reus was leisurely having her cup of tea when she received word that an unannounced visitor entered the hall. Sipping her tea, Reus leaned back and propped her feet up on a stack of large tomes and spell books. Pushing her hair off her shoulders, Reus sighed.

"OF COURSE SOMEONE'S HERE!" Reus screamed, her voice ringing through the corridor like a bell. "YOU THINK I'M HERE FOR MY HEALTH? COME ON UP! WELL-- GO GET THEM!"

Her assistant was neither prepared for Lady Reus' lazy solution to the intruder, nor was he ready for her to keep the same level of volume when she addressed him. Seeing the look of pain and suffering on his face, she laughed. "Ooops! Sorry about that!"

Her assistant hurried down the steps, arriving to find a young witch and her cat. "Council Lady Reus will see you now. Follow me, please."

Rose practically lept in the air, when the shouting voice came from above. She snatched up Nemo, stuffing him under her hat. The cat cautiously peeked out from beneath its shadows. But he stay put; glittery eyes staring at servant whom had suddenly appeared near the stairs.

Obediantly, Rose followed the stranger's instructions to follow. She hurried up the after him, robes dragging along behind her. Her one hand was now in her pocket, clutching onto her orb.

Finally arriving at their apparent destination near the top, Rose could spot a head of white. That must be...

"Well don't just stand there, come in and have a seat," Reus called from the vast piles in her office.

Lazily waving her hand, a path cleared from the door to the seating area. Since the young girl arrived unannounced, the council woman didn't feel hassled to harp on formalities. Papers zipped left and right, and piles of parchment, books, and other sundry items rolled apart like waves. Reus waved the girl over.

"Why don't you have a seat and a cup of tea?" Reus asked, cracking a smile. "My name's Reus, and you are...?"

"Oh I-uh, I'm Rose. Pleased to meet you," the girl replied. She watched the items in the room shift, clearing a path. It was like the parting of the Red Sea. She stared in awe a moment, daydreaming about reaching that level of magic one day. All the more reason to practice.

A rather loud meow could be heard coming from under Rose's hat. Nemo was clearly offended that he hadn't been introduced. How did the little witch know? Well she'd been with the cat long enough to figure him out pretty easily. "Sorry. That's Nemo. I wasn't really sure if he was allowed in here, and he sort of followed me anyway. Oh! But to my point, I guess I should tell you why I'm here huh?" She said, flashing Reus a smile as she took her seat.

"Ya see, I found this orb....and I thought maybe you could breathe life into it like the ones I've heard about. Or at least....tell me more about it." She blushed, realizing it was a pretty big favor. She silently wondered how many people brought orbs to the magi with the same request. And so she quickly added, "Ummm I mean...if you want to that is..."

She removed said orb from her pocket, holding it out for Reus to see. "I found it in a pit when I was walking through the woods. Well actually I don't know if it was really in there to begin with. I actually tripped on it and..." she babbled. "...and after I fell, that's when I noticed it..."

Reus' assistant brought in a tea setting for Rose and a bowl of milk for her feline companion. Weaving his way through the piles of Reus' stuff, he set them down on the table in the seating area. Reus' eyes widened in surprise as the girl explained her method of discovery. She tripped over it? Reus mused. Very curious indeed.

"That's quite a vexing story, Rose," Reus said, clearing off a chair with a snap of her fingers. Lifting her cup to her lips she thought of the best course of action. "Are you sure that orb doesn't belong to anyone?"

Setting her cup and saucer on the table, Reus beckoned the orb toward her simply by waving her fingers slowly. The orb lifted from Rose's hand and floated over to Reus. It hovered above her the council woman's hand, and she cast a light cleansing spell to remove the excess dirt from it's surface. "Well, finders keepers, eh Rosie?" Reus shrugged, allowing the light reflecting off its surface to illuminate her orange eyes. "There is a powerful force within this orb, and as its retainer, I am obliged to inform you that it's-- well-- evil."

Nemo, spotting the milk, immediately darted out from beneath the Rose's hat. He plopped himslef down in front of his saucer of milk, and began to lap up the delicious liquid.

"Well...I didn't see anybody..." Rose began, nodding in thanks to Reus' assitant, and humbly taking her tea. "But I guess that doesn't mean there wasn't anybody there. Though they didn't stop me from taking it sooo....I really don't know what to think. But 'finders keepers' sounds like a pretty good saying to me."

The girl paused, when she heard what Reus had to say next. Her eyes widened in shock. "It's EVIL?!....Well that's....unexpected. But I guess it explains the weird vibe I get from it. And I suppose that's what made me want to pick it up. It wasn't...normal..."

A lot of questions were racing through her mind now. Evil? How evil? The kind of I'm-going-to-play-nasty-pranks-on-you Evil? Or the I'm-going-to-eat-you-in-your-sleep sort of Evil? Or maybe the I-like-to-torture-people Evil. Needless to say, Rose was pretty intrigued by this. Possibly even too intrigued for her own good. But then who knew?

"Anything's worth trying I guess, especially if it'll make me stronger.... I'm SURE I'd be able to take good care of it," she added, more-so confirming it to herself, rather than those listening. "Is there anything else you can tell me about it?"  

[[Reus]]

"You think so, Rose?" Reus said, listening to the girl banter on. "If its power you crave, I'd be careful on the means and mediums which you select."

She had met countless girls like Rose: Naive. Innocent. Craving fruit that shouldn't be eaten. The lust for power always left an uneasiness within her, especially when it came to the creation of Legians. The desires and wishes of the Orb's possessor are important, but equally, the welfare of the Ledgian as well as that of others also needed to be considered. Stirring her tea, she watched Nemo lap up his milk.

"Just because you are the possessor of the orb, doesn't necessarily mean you'll be able to control the being that emerges from it," Reus said, sucking on her spoon thoughtfully. "Have you considered that possibility and the effects might be?"

"That's true. This might not be the source of strength I'm looking for. And there's always the chance......a good possibility that it'll be far too strong for me to handle....." she sighed, running her finger along the edge of her tea cup before taking another sip. She had the sinking feeling that what Reus was saying would indeed be true.

She stared up at the orb for a moment, and a creepy sensation began to tingle down her spine. For some strange reason she felt like she had to try this, even if it meant risking her life. Not necissarily just for power, but for this unknown reason that was eating at her.

"I know what you said is true...and there's a good chance something bad may happen....And I can't explain why, but....I feel like I HAVE to do this. And if something did happen to me, you wouldn't be held responsible. Cause it's not your fault. So....I-I'd like to do this. If it's alright with you."

"I understand," came Rose's firm reply. She handed over the orb, letting it gently float over and land in the beautiful crimson velvet, causing ripples through the fabric that lay in the creepy black box. So creepy, Rose almost found it enchanting as she stared. She had an odd fasicnation with anything that reminded her of scary dark castles. Her mind began to spin as a series of images flitted through her mind; people in victorian clothes, large rooms with curtains billowing in the wind. It was like she was trying to remember. She could feel a headache coming on as her eyes began to clothes and she fell to the floor.

Nemo mewed worridly, leaping to her side and rubbing against her, but the girl did not wake up. It was as if she was in a deep sleep.

((alright, I figure she's starting to remember things from her past all of a sudden. Maybe the atmosphere and all this talk of evil triggered it. xD; btw, if you don't know what I'm talking about, it's in her profile. She can't remember beyond a certain point. Poor Rosie. ;_; ))  

[[Reus]]

Reus snapped her fingers and the box snapped shut quicker than others had in the past. The Orb had a strange power, and she didn't like a novice such as Rose being exposed to it for too long. Another snap and the box flew across the room, diving into another chest, which promptly locked itself upon closing.

"Rose, where ever you are come back," Reus said, clapping her hands. Unsure of what status her guest was in, trying to force her out of the trance was ill-advised. The council woman knew better than to attempt something as foolish as interrupting such things. "When you are ready, come back."

Reus tapped her tea cup and it refilled itself. Adding a second slice of lemon, her sat and waited for Rose's episode to end. Sipping her tea, she simply watched the girl, making sure no harm would come to her.

"Relax, my friend," Reus said to Nemo in his own language. "She will awake when the time is right. All we can do for now is wait."

With that, the cat's bowl of milk refilled. Reus sat still with her orange eyes fixed upon Rose.

Rose was lost, wandering through a sea of memories. Dressed in an elegant, formal gown, she ran through a dimly lit hallway. Candles flickered as she zoomed by, past room after room, window after window. Something was after her. In the distance she could see the large double doors ahead. So familiar. But was she going to reach them in time? She stumbled along, knocking things out of the way. The door, like in a dreamscape, faded to a white light. But Rose kept running toward it.

Just as things were getting interesting, Rose's eyes fluttered open. She had awakened. Gazing about the room, she realized she was sitill at the Tower. That's when she noticed she was lying on the floor. "H-how long was I out?" she stuttered, holding her head.

Nemo hopped into her lap, and gave a happy meow in. He was glad to see her up and moving.
