Okay, since this is the number one question we get asked, it's got its own sticky! How exactly do you know which common room you're allowed to post in? How do you get sorted?
There's no simple answer! If you think you're a Gryffindor, then that's where you post. However, we discourage people from doing a 'flavour-of-the-month' deal because we want you to become friends with the others in your Common Room! We have SerpentObsession here who has made a quiz for you to take if you'd like to find out where you'd be!
Still have no idea? Want conformation from a ton of sources? Well, here's a list of a few online Hogwarts House sorters that you can have a go at. Take which everyone one sounds best and use that answer, or even take them all. Or you could use your own quiz you've found somewhere 3nodding

Interested in finding out which Hogwarts House you'd be in? Sick and tired of multiple choice quizzes that never actually give you the answers you'd really chose?
You've come to the right place. In the following few posts, I'll be explaining the rules and questions for an Sorting House quiz. There will be open ended questions only, so know that you'll always be able to find an answer you like.
Rules!
Just as most quizzes have at least one rule, this one does as well. They are simple, and rather apparent to the average quiz taker.
First off, answer every question to the best of your ability. No matter how stupid or repetative a question seems, I assure you, there is a reason for everyone of them. Just because it doesn't seem reasonable, doesn't mean it isn't. It just means I'm an idiot who looks at things differently.
I know there are a lot of questions, but I wanted to make sure I got the most accurate answer possable.
Second, don't answer questions in a way you think will get you into the house you want to be in. Answer every question you see truthfully. What's the point of taking the quiz if you already know what answer you'll get?
Third, please answer every question in a single post. I understand that you want to get gold, however this is not your average Chatterbox quiz. You'll be getting graded on this, and I won't bother to score it if I have to search through posts to find things. (Incidentally, I will delete all spam posts and be very angry! - LamingtonQueen)

29) It's Christmas eve and as you're going to bed, you suddenly realize you forgot to get a present for your girl/boyfriend. You know that s/he will be getting you something big and will probably expect something in return. You don't have an apparation licence, and everything is already closed anyway. What do you do?
30) You tell a friend of yours a really dark secret. It's something that you know will be extreamly embaressing and will probably have everybody you know hating or ignoring you. You knew that the person wasn't very good at keeping secrets but told them anyway. A few days later, your enemy comes up to you and threatens to tell everyone the secret if you don't do what s/he tells you to. Some of the things s/he wants you to do are both embaressing and degrading. What do you do?

3)English, I get my best grades and enjoy it the most.
4)Probably Charms or Transfiguration because they seem more study good not you have to be already talented there though I expect I would be good at any of them.
5)None that I know of
6)If I could play an instrument probably the harp or something really pretty like that.

9)None becuase I dont really believe in anything but I do believe there is something but not really sure.
10)Violence and Ignorance (Racism) because I think its really barbarick

17)Delorus Umbridge because she is truely evil even though she is against Voldemort which makes her even more cruel.
1 cool Hermione because she is smart but also is brave when people she cares about are in danger or when what she believes in is being threatened.
19)I love some muggles its the same as anything there is good and bad everywere you look.
20)Same thing there are some that obviosly are bad but there are great ones to I think you have to know them to find out.
21)I think magical creatures like any creature is very interesting but at the same time needs to be treated with the same respect you would give a muggle or wizard/witch.

23)When someone truely knows who they are and despight there flaws loves themself anyway and are proud of who they are.
24)Happy endings thats why I read if I wanted a bad ending I'd stick to reality I get anough here.
25)Mine would probably be serounded by water and fish though I'm not sure if that could happen because I'm terrified of fish.
26)My animagus would probably be an owl becuase they are smart loyal and noble creatures.
27)My favorite spell would be Fire Hermione conjures because I'm always cold.
2 cool Try and finish the quittich game as fast as possable cram in as much studying as I can before class and proabably look at notes on my test when ever I can manage a glance. Just Hope for the best.
29)Be creative make something anything or just put some money in a home made card.
30)I wouldnt do what she says I dont like taking orders from people unless they are paying me like a boss but I certaily would have a extreamly big argument with my so called friend.

OK, acording to the first one, I'm a Hufflepuff, with a ranking of Hufflepuff - 13, Ravenclaw - 12, Gryffindor - 11, Slytherin - 8
Second quiz gave me Hufflepuff too.
Third one too. Gawd, anyone senceing a pattern? It's not even like I'm trying for any one in particular.
Again?! gonk blaugh
Sheesh, even Warner Brothers says I'm a Hufflepuff. I guess that says something about me, huh?

I know my own nature well enough to confirm that I would most certainly be placed in Ravenclaw. With that said, I shall fill out the form.

I'll be 17 next month.

Although I favor all my classes, I am more skilled at English and Latin. My nature is more adapted to words than it is to numbers and calculations.
4) What are your best magical subjects? Why?
Erm... I guess History of Magic would be my best. And Potions (since I can relate it to Chemistry). I am really good at writing essays, so I really don't think any HP school subject would be all that difficult. XP
5) Are you a supporter of any strange subjects, such as Yaoi, Yuri, vampirism, etc? Which and why?
No, because I am a conservative Christian.

I used to play the violin, but I quite to make room for more subjects in school.

Just English, although I'm learning more.

Japanese, because it's convenient in relation to my interests.

Christianity, but I won't say why. That will just open up a huge can of worms, and this isn't the ED. XD

Reading cooking instructions, getting chain mail, garlic, arrogance, anger/hatred, regret, and tomatoes; because 1) I'm lazy 2) I've just always hated Italian food 3) Being a good person is one of my virtues

Satire, open discussion, love, anime, video games, and knoweldge; because 1) they open up or lead to creative avenues 2) they emphasize my humanity 3) they make me a better person 4) they entertain me

Crimson; it is often associated with a poetic darkness that I often find beautiful (think along the lines of gothic romance)

Serene.

My friends would describe me as conservative and motherly. Those who know me just as a classmate would call me quiet or absent.
15) What is your favorite gem stone? Why?
Amethyst, I suppose, since it's my birthstone.
16) What character do you like most? Why?
Dumbledore because he represents everything I aspire to be. Loving, patient, witty, forgiving, optimistic - very Jesus-like.
17) What character do you hate/dislike most? Why?
I dislike Snape the most, even though I still think he's on the good side. Snape acts so childish by holding onto his hatred for Harry's father. When is he going to realize that hatred is futile? He should be more constructive.
18 ) What character can you relate to most? Why?
I would say that I'm a mix between Dumbledore and Mrs. Weasley. I am a loving person in general, and I think of others before myself, and I'm patient - but there are times that I can have a nasty temper, and I worry about my family's well-being quite a bit.
19) What do you think of Muggles?
Meh. I'm simply glad to be human.
20) What do you think of half humans?
That depends on what the other half of them are.

They're pretty interesting.

Meh, I'd let the loser tell my secret. I don't like to live knowing that I have something to hide. If people want to judge me based on my own foolish actions, then they're all a bunch of hypocrites. Acting foolish is part of being human - we're all bound to it. Personally, I don't try to deny my own humanity.

I took the quizzes on the other sites and got Ravenclaw 3 times, Hufflepuff once, and Gryffindor once. I guess I'll have to go with the Ravenclaw, but I was hoping for Gryffindor. rofl Oh well... biggrin

I sing a lot. Before this year I've been in some kind of choir for many years. I also can play a tiny bit of piano and guitar/bass

Oh boy. I want to learn Gaelic, Japanese, Turkish, Russian, Serbian, Slovenian... more German. They all interest me *shrug*

I dislike broken promises and broken hearts and rudeness and fakeness. They irritate me.

Hello I've got Rawenclow in all but one test but in that I got Gryffindor-12 Ravenclow-11 Slyterin-8 and I don't remember what I got on Hufflepuff but the score was quite low.

I don't want to tell it but it's an old Nordic name that mean goddess.

Telling my enemy to get lost don't talk to the friend and when my enemy tell everybody at school my secret I try not to show that I'm embraced.
