List your sport and how you train for it. Simple smile

Therefore, if anyone is interested in participating in that sport or furthering their fitness for it, we can each gain insight into others training.

Karate:

I train at the dojo twice a week (total of 3 1/2 hours - would do more, but am resticted because of work)

I aim to go to the gym twice a week (total of 2 1/2 hours - aim because I can't always make it. 10min cardio, 30-40min weights, 10-20min stretching)

I am starting to incorporte walking and progressing to running twice a week (aiming up to 4-5 sessions of 6km running)

Javelin:

I don't do this anymore, but for anyone who's interested, this is what I used to do:

Train twice a week, one indoor, one outdoor. Indoor to focus on technique and fitness, outdoor to work on throwing and run up. This was with my coach.

Indoor sessions consisted of sprinting, throwing weighted balls and medicine balls, circuits for weights and flexibility, technique (inc. video analysis)

Outdoor sessions were simply throwing, usually sprint training in there as well. But this was mainly leading up to, and during the competition season.

In summer - compete once a week/fortnight (started off with it the event being held once a week, it then became once a fortnight and is now once every three weeks - so would compete in other events too)

I do pro wrestling. I usually get good sleep before it, eat a piece of chicken and drink some juice (or powerade if I don't have juice) and then go. We do a bunch of cardio beforehand. I have a gym in my house, so I use that too (especially on days when I'm not doing wrestling). Many mornings I also do yoga (and some very slight tai-chi) and take more of a mental approach to not get injured and keep going and stuff.

I play rugby (I don't think its a big sport at all in the US). In terms of training I do the following

Monday: 2hrs fitness (cardio work- plenty of sprints)
1hr weights in gym

Tuesday: 1hr weights in gym

Wednesday: 2hrs playing (contact session)
1hr weights in gym

Thursday: 1hr circuit training
1hr weights in gym
1hr30 playing (mainly technique based)

Friday: Rest

Saturday: Match 70mins

Sunday: Rest

The weights I do are to bulk up- I play prop so that means I've got to be as bulky as possible (I'm about 15 stone / 210 pounds at the moment). This means I do everything in sets of 4-6 reps max possible weight

the running part is mostly for conditioning purposes.

i also left weights i only have 10lb weight but i do 50 reps with them, 30 push ups a day(2 sets of 15 during the day) and 2 sets of 30 sit ups.

I fence, but right now I'm in the off season, insofar as fencing has an off season. During the time I'm fencing on the school team I do about two hours of pliometrics (exercises which are meant to build strength and endurance, focusing mostly on building leg muscle) and footwork, then fence for an hour. In addition, I take a saber class on Saturdays that's two or three hours long and free fence at a club one or two additional nights a week. At the beginning of the season I was jogging in the mornings too, but that became suicidal what with my decision to take an extra class and get together an art portfolio. Now I fence on Saturdays and, as much as I can, two days a week at the club, although it's usually closer to one. I jog for about half an hour in the mornings, too, on the days I don't need that time for sleep/homework.

I don't currently have any sport I'm in but I'm going to start training for MMA and Prowrestleing (Two dreams I've always wanted to fullfill). I think my training sessions will go something like this.

Monday: Run for 30 min./Calistenics (push ups, sit ups, ect.)
Teusday: Wieght Training
Wednesday:Repeat Monday
Thursday:Weight Training
Friday:Repeat Monday
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: Rest

This maybe subject to change depending on how I improve. My running regiment will follow the 8 Week running program I found in this guild.
