I'm fed up of people moaning about english dubs! I don't speak Japenese and i'd rather watch the program than read the words!
Ok now I've said that lets discuss what people think is wrong with the english dubs like reasonable people.

I think the english dubs are really good. DBZ is a good dub I like it better than the sub.

to be honest, I have more respect for the Japanese version than the english version... I prefer it because they dont brutalize the series by editing and re-editing out the stuff that makes the series so good. I also love the Japanese language, so that plays a big role in why I like the sub better than the dubs.

for dbz i love english but for naruto i like japanese it is said you like what you see first, that was my case in these two ninja

It's because the some of the stuff from the Japanese dub got lost in translation on the English dub. That and I hate how they edited a lot of the dialogue and made certain characters seem stupider than they really are.

I agree with you, darsin. As much as people complain about the english dubs...it's much easier to understand. So what, if some things have been editted out; you still get the same essence of what the episode is supposed to be about.
Yeah, you might like the Japanese language...but can you even undestand it? I think it's absolutely stupid to read words at the bottom of the screen like it's some kind of hooked-on-phonics. I mean, really guys! Get off your high horses! Just read the comic if you're so obssessed with getting exact episode experiences.
Alright, this concludes my little rant evil

the dubs are ok but japan has the whole stroy and i agree thats if u want the full epid then read the manga

It doesn't bother me either way. I don't speak Japanese so I watch them in English...
But, subtitles don't bother me.

I usually don't like English dubs for the simple fact that you can't correctly fan dub anything, and the voices usually go better with the character in Japanese. But there are some good dubs, DBZ is a perfect example. Ultimately, it's about half and half for me.

yes in some places a lot was lost in the translation, but it makes it so much easier to watch the eng. dub, than to try and read the suds while also trying to watch the anime. i think that some characters are represented better in the japanies version, but the same goes for the english one too. it depends n the anime, and character

personally, I like the sub a whole lot better, but Im a speed reader....I understant were your coming from though. My friend has the same problem, and can't enjoy the sub episodes without missing something.

I think they did a great job with the English. Every once in awhile, I put on the Japanese subtitles to see what they say instead, and it's always really boring. The English translators worked really hard to make DB and DBZ interesting. Not to mention the Japanese audio really sucks. The voices sound like they are talking in a can, and the music makes you want to fall asleep. I know it's an old show, and that's why I think it's cool that they remade it.
