[This is a private RP biggrin Please don't post unless you are winterfalcon, Sosiqui, Kel-chan, Quinny-chan, Trelweny, or Epine de Rose.]

They'd only met once or twice, but they all had something in common - they were intrigued with the mysterious books that had been found by Winter and Dust. And now that more of the books had surfaced...

The great blue bird hurtled through the odd Gaian sky, goal clearly in mind. Her first task for the one Atrus had sent her to.

Every person heard a bird's cry at the door of their home, and found a note lying on their step when they opened it. If they were lucky, they might have caught a glimpse of the bird winging away to the next destination.

The Note
Guys!

Something happened... I got a letter from Atrus! And some... well, you'd better come see for yourself. Come to the grove of trees near the cliffs, you know, the one they called the Stargrove, as soon as you can! I can't keep this to myself! Hurry!

~Sosiqui

PS. Don't be afraid of the bird.

Kel-chan stared slightly bemused at the note in her hand, squinting at the disappearing aviian, before actually realising what it was. Sosiqui had got a letter from Atrus! She stuffed it in her pocket suddenly, a smile lighting up her face.
"Daniel? Daniel, please look after the children for a while..." She flung herself round the banisters as she raced upstairs to get some travelling clothes. The Stargrove was a way off, after all...

As she thundered down again, grabbing for her keys as she did so, she nearly bumped into the tall shapeshifter standing in the doorway. He held out his arm, effectively blocking her frenzied flight.
"Woah. Slow down there. Where are you going?" He asked, slightly amused. "I'd like to know before you dump me with the troublemakers..."

"THe Stargrove. I should only be out for the evening..." Possibly. She privately added that there might be something longer-term. Looking up instead with a sparkle in her golden eyes, she hefted the light rucksack on her back. "I've a meeting, with Sosiqui. Daniel... thankyou for watching over."

A small, cheetah-marked face peered around the corner. Samantha was watching carefully... she wanted the fun as well, for it was certain that her friend Kel-chan was excited. Slipping silently past the two 'shifters, she went outside and leapt gracefully into the Mini, effectively stowing away. As Kel-chan finally set off, she had no idea of the extra passenger.

Sosiqui was waiting in the Stargrove, looking rather silly - the bookish girl really had no idea how to properly plan an expedition, so she was going a bit overboard. A musty pith helmet was jammed haphazardly on her head, and there was a good hundred feet of rope coiled around a tree, lanterns and candles everywhere... it looked like a camping store had exploded.

She hummed happily to herself, then straighted up as K'eer called a warning and landed on a stump. "Ah, you came back... thanks," she said, still feeling awkward around the bird.

K'eer tilted her head intelligently, gave the human a shrewd look, then fluffed all her feathers and settled down to wait.

Quinn yawned and stretched, alowing herself to slump futher into the chaise on the roof of her home in Kyendi. Her hand flopped lazily down to give a scritch to Zane while her eyelids drooped ever lower.

On the verge of sleep, she was startled by the screetch of a bird and the plunk of a large scroll in her lap. Shielding her eyes from the mid-day sun, she watched the bird circle away, back to the portal leading to Durem.

Yawning once more and running a hand through her disheveled red crop of hair, Quinn unrolled the scroll and read:

The Note
Guys!

Something happened... I got a letter from Atrus! And some... well, you'd better come see for yourself. Come to the grove of trees near the cliffs, you know, the one they called the Stargrove, as soon as you can! I can't keep this to myself! Hurry!

At the mention of Atrus, Quinn bolted upright, finishing the note as she shoved her feet into her blue sneakers. Stuffing a notebook, calculator, and various writing implements into her already overstuffed satchel, she grabbed her sweatshirt and made her way to the transporters in the lawn across from her dwelling.

Zane followed her across the lawn, barking excitedly. Quinn sent him back to warn her charges of her absense and continued on her way. Halfway across the Lower Kyendi clearing to the portal, she caught the sound of Zane chuffing along behind her. Reluctantly, she agreed to let him come along. He had helped her on previous adventures and it might prove fruitful to have the little orange digging machine at her side.

Grabbing one of the coils of rope that lay on the Gaia side of the portal, Quinn filled her canteen with water from the Sabilasi spring and checked her wallet for funds.

Satisfied that she had everything she needed, she made her way down the clock tower to the Stargrove, stopping in Durem on the way to purchase a set of saddlebags to fit over Zane.

Trelweny
((Watching Wiggles dvds with Theron. Otherwise I'm good to go.
It makes more sense for us to know each other IC & be friends. Otherwise why would you trust us to join you on a potentially dangerous journey?
I'll go with that.))

Adjusting her shoulder bag Trelweny sighed sadly. Although her father had sent her off to enjoy some time by herself without the baby she rather missed TheronDeVon's presense. Having her thoughts all to herself was not necessarily as good a thing as she could have hoped. As usual her thoughts drifted to Timex & how much she missed him. Trying to turn her thoughts from such things Trelweny thought of the prospects for finding gaurdians as FireFlight had asked her to do. She had an idea, but it would take some work to set it up right. At least the young would not be born for some time yet. That was some consolation at least.

I might as well go fishing in Bass'ken Lake. I could at least be doing something. Settling on the pier, Trelweny failed to notice the green "shadow" following her.

((more in sec... took a long time typing this . 2 pages had shown up while I did. Theron i being difficult irl.))

Epine - Her race are all like this, they look almost dead but it makes her a helluvah a lot of fun to RP because of misunderstandings.
Rishlan Companion - Anathema

Ah the joys of being disturbed in the process of enjoying a relaxing day! The woman simply shook her head as she rose to her feet (making sure to remove the creature from upon her lap) and made her way towards the letter which had descended upon her in the brief flurry of feathers, wings and shrieking - it wasn't a painful shriek, just a sound she described as one when it came from such a large bird.

Nevertheless, she leant down and lifted the letter into her grasp, pursing her lips as she slipped a finger through the seal and began to read through what was presented before her. Her brow rose steadily at the revelations that began to appear upon the page, she vaguely remembered Sosiqui and the discussions in regards to Atrus but the contents...

Her mind drifted for a few moments as she straightened herself and glanced briefly towards the Rishlan opposite her. The tiny creature appeared to be waiting expectantly for her decision and after a few moments the woman did come to one -

"Anathema, find my keys." She ordered in a low and almost inaudible voice, raising her hands to tighten the peculiar braids of white lockes that had always been a source of pride to her if not to cause others to stare in the process but she endured for her species were known for their incredibly pale complexion, white hair and disturbingly bright eyes.

The Rishlan obeyed her without question and as she bounded back towards her mistress (her fairy wings propelling her into the air) she promptly dropped the keys to the household in her mistress' hand - that being done, the woman simply made her way to the door, glanced in briefly to make sure everything was turned off and then locked the door.

"Come on then." She added, motioning towards the motorcycle (ooc: I'm sorry but they HAVE to have a reason for all these tyres in the lakes) as she made her way towards it, "Seems we will not be having a quiet day after all," She mused, moutning the large bike as the Rishlan placed herself in the small compartment for the journey.

Within moments both Rishlan and mistress had sped their way out of the neighbourhood and towards the Grove that was a rather long distance away from their home...

K'eer sensed others approaching and jumped into the air with a flurry of wingbeats, letting out a low warning cry. Sosiqui looked up. "Are they coming?"

A hawklike call answered her, and she shrugged. "I hope that means yes. Wonder how long it takes for them to learn our language?"

((Just come in and say hi when you arrive. n_n))

"Sammie?" Kel's tone was somewhat disbelieving as she whirled around to face her yellow shadow. "How did you get here?"
"I hid in the car," The Libre admitted, shamefaced. "And I brought Teal'c..."
"Rishlan?" And indeed, sitting silently underneath the stomach of the larger Libre was a chocolate brown Rishlan kit, gold symbol gleaming slightly. Kel-chan sighed.
"Sam... go home. Please? It's not far to the bus, and I'll give you fare if the driver will let you on..."
"But - "
"Samantha. You must go. I rely on you to keep Alexandra under control, and Auriga..." The Libre preened slightly, knowing that she had the respect of Kel's teenaged Guardian, before sighing.
"I'll.... be back at the house."
"Thanks, Sammie." The redhead's voice was warm as she rolled back the sleeves slightly on her sturdy maroon shirt. As the Libre padded silently down the hill, back towards the car had been left, Kel hefted the bag once more and headed up towards the memorable grove. Teal'c stared a little while, and then pattered along behind her, forgotten for the moment. Eventually the woman reached the usual meeting place, and hollered a cheerful 'Hello!' as she entered.

EDIT: Teal'c!

Quinn trecked her way to the Grove, Zane trotting at her heels. She had picked up a few extra things at the store where she purchased Zane's saddlebags: a collapsible dish, some energy bars, jute, a dog whistle, compass, a sewing kit; things that she thought she may have a use for.

Entering the Stargrove, she saw an icey blue feather glinting at the lip of a clearing. Picking it up and stowing it in her already bursting satchel, Quinn entered the clearing and greeted Sosi with a wave and a grin.

Sosiqui looked up as K'eer flew overhead, kreeling. "Oh! Hello, hello.. oof... hang on." She muttered to herself and untangled herself from the rope, which had gotten looped around everything. "I brought... oof!... suppplies!"

((Feel free to go "supplies for what? huh?" XD This Sosi is a bit scatterbrained and stuff. Think Yomiko from the anime Read or Die if you've ever seen that.))

The motorcycle was hardly 'nature-friendly' but it did its job and moved at an insane speed, much quicker than the traditional creatures that the woman would on occasions use to transport herself across Gaia. Her reasons for using the bike were that she needed to move quickly and simply didn't have time to negotiate a suitable bribe towards her companions in order to have them move her to the destination she desired - not only that, but she didn't have to worry about the motorcycle wandering off in the process...

Regardless of this; the motorcycle roared loudly, disturbing the tranquility around it during it's task to reach the grove. Street upon street, park upon park flashed passed the woman (who lacked the safety padding that most would be advised to wear) and eventually she left the city of Durem itself.

She then had a number of options, which route?

The shortest, she gathered was by going through Aekea and with that in mind she swung in the direction of the large industrial city and made her way towards the Grove, taking every short cut in which she could recall and locate in order to reach the meeting point that Sosiqui had decided upon - she couldn't have made it closer could she?

Nevertheless, at last she left the cities behind her and tore across the farmland and wildlands surrounding each until at last she caught sight of the cliff face and gave the compartment with her Rishlan within it a brief knock to alert it to the situation - noting the silent order, the Rishlan gathered up it's courage and leapt from the speeding motorcycle...

The woman would have to weave up towards the grove but the Rishlan itself could fly up, that was the order and so she did...

}----{

Finally, the Rishlan reached the Grove and with a disgruntled squeak, propped itself upon the branch just above Sosiqui's head where she promptly began to mimic her mistress' activities in an attempt to point out that she was on her way...

Kelinor stopped at the edge of the mound of 'supplies', hefting her now impossibly light-seeming bag.
"Uh... we were supposed to bring stuff?" She scooped up Teal'c absently and held him in the crook of her arm. She'd only brought writing things, her sturdy little notebook, a few odds and ends and a bottle of drink.
Her attention was then drawn by the azure bird overhead.
"Woah."

While Quinn had planned for a day trip, by the looks of everything Sosi had gathered, the tow of them... well, five of them, she thought looking around the clearing, might be gone for some time,

She hoped her charges would stay out of trouble. Wondering whether to send Zane back, she eyed the plethora of lanterns, rope, and other gear Sosi had gathered.

Zane leaned against Quinn's leg, tongue lolling.

"Oh! Yes! Er... hang on. The note's around here somewhere." Sosiqui waded back into the pile, grimacing as she stepped in a pot with a metallic thunk. "Um... yeah, well... the gist of it is this!" She shrugged off her backpack and produced a book, letting it fall open between her hands so that they could see the linking panel moving on the first page. "Don't touch it," she warned.

The roar of the motorcycle was cut abruptly a short way from the Grove where the apparent 'parking' had been set up. There was a brief pause and then the muffled footsteps of a being could be heard - they grew steadily closer and from within the trees the woman's shadowed figure appeared, her stride jolted and almost militaristic in style.

Her footsteps sped up however into a 'quick-march' and eventually the pale faced woman slipped out from the trees and into the epicentre of the grove in which time the bright emerald eyes flicked over each of the group in turn - ah, so they were all here it would seem.

Giving a light bow in acknowledgement to the group, she at last motioned to her Rishlan and folded her arms across her chest as she surveyed the group - she had only brought her keys but this in itself was sufficient for her (her race were very strange needless to say).

"Have enough supplies, Sosiqui?" She enquired in a mildly amused manner as she gazed down upon the now opened book.
