The fifth dormitory of the George Edward Alexander building is simple, but suffices for its purpose. Two average sized beds are the prominent feature of the room, parallel to each other on opposite sides of the small room. A desk of a nondescript wood rest at the foot of each bed with two chests of drawers of a similar wood making up the rest of the room’s furnishings. A wooden door on the right side of the room leads out the dormitories washroom. Two large windows consume the majority of the back wall, letting in much sunshine and allowing the rooms occupants a breathtaking view of Windsor’s grounds.

Coltrane had just settled down into her dormitory for what she had hoped was a long, peaceful relaxation; possibly even a nap for a dozen minutes or so.
The girl should have known better than to hope.
No sooner had her eyelids closed over the blue-grey pools beneath them then her ears alerted her to the sound of approaching footsteps. Almost instinctively, the woman reached behind her to retrieve her hunting knife from where she had stashed it under her pillow.
Footsteps stopped briefly outside her door, but moved on quickly enough. While Col had originally thought to ignore this and slip back into the semi-relaxed state that had settled over her body, curiosity got the better of her and one eye slid open.
Her scan of the room proved that it was exactly as she had last seen it before she had lain down, except one small detail. A small folded note now rested a few inches in from the door.
Almost sensing that whatever this seemingly innocent page contained was nothing good for her, Col threw the knife that sat lightly in her palm at it. The blade skewered the paper as well as a bit of the floor beneath it.
Sighing tiredly, the woman rose to her feet and crossed the few feet to where the paper lay.
Tugging the knife out of the floor effortlessly, Col used one hand to hold back her pale hair as she read the words the note contained.
A small scream escaped her lips as she comprehended the words. Another class. Floop.
Kicking the new scar on the floor, the woman sheathed her heirloom blade, pushed a few locks behind her ear, and stalked off to yet another class. Had hoping not been against her as of late, Col would have wished for another easy class like the Fire Elemental class she had just slept through.

She had not slept in very late this morning, waking up somewhere between five and six, well before the sun had even began to consider rising. Col allowed herself a long walk around the school grounds, more for memorization sake than any form of exercise, before returning back to her dormitory. The woman had spent the next few hours sharpening blades and mixing up new poisons when she heard the oddest sound coming from her desk.
The small clay tablet that she had discovered on her floor after she had picked up the books for her clerical arts class was shaking, creating a bumping sound as the edges made contact with the wood of the desk. A slight buzzing sound could be heard over this.
Coltrane picked up a small vial of who-knows-what from where she had just set it down on her bed, slipped it into the pouch she wore at her waste, and reached to pick up the hysterical clay.
