Everybody likes music, right?!
If you don't...you're odd... eek
Anyway,
This is a place to discuss artists, genres, and instruments. Anything involving music, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE...
My favorite genres, for example, are as follows:
Gothic, techno, and trance,
Hard rock, rock, and alternative,
Some jazz and metal, and classical,
New Age, Progressive...
And yeah...that seems to be it...
OH YES! Classic rock too!
Anyway, some artists that I like are:
Alice in Chains, Rush, Genesis, Enya, Bella Morte, Nine Inch Nails, Beethoven and Mozart, aaaand....those are just to name a few ^_^

Oh, also,
Who here believes that music DOES affect you?
I personally believe it does.
If you listen to certain types of music, they make you feel differently...
For example, Genesis makes me depressed, and I start wishing the world was different...a better place...
And music from Alice in Chains makes me want to kill people ^_^ heart 3nodding ! While blaming an artist or band for your actions isn't right at all, in fact it's rather stupid, I do believe music can affect you.
If anybody wishes to disagree, please do so. It's just how I personally feel, and what I've observed by paying attention both to myself and others. Songs can be so moving that they make you cry...
Now you tell me, how does that not show proof that music affects people?

I can listen to just about anything although I really don't like rap or country... And some other genres I can only listen to in small doses.
Favorites: Metal, Classical rock, Hard Rock, Techno/Trance... and many others
ex: Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, DJ Taka, Disturbed, Our Lady Peace, Cold, The Who.... etc.

Music Definetly Effects The Way A Person Thinks Or Feels. I Am A Sap When It Comes To Music. Don't Tell Anyone Else Though [':< One Of My Favourite Songs Is Far Away, By Nickelback. It's So Beautiful.

My music taste is...varied. It excludes most rap and country, but there are glaring exceptions. Although I have a soft spot for anything that'll pep me right up. Usually something with a fast beat, light lyrics, and a lotta synth.

Rock mainly. Heavy Metal, Love Metal. When I was In 7th Grade Some 8th grader told me that liking rock bands that are from today is stupid. Ever since then I had an even stronger liking of today's new bands. It's kinda like shoving it in her preppy face I don't care what she says. ANYWHO some bands I like are:
H.I.M., Blink-182, Within Temptation, The Dresden Dolls, Mindless Self Indulgence, System of A Down, The Who, and many many more

Do you think people have a right to sue music artists because "their music affected them and made them do those things"?
Personally, I do not.
True, music does affect you,
But you can't blame the artist,
If the music makes you feel that way,
'Tis YOUR responsibility not to listen to it.
What do YOU GUYS think?

And I listen to Rock, Metal, Death metal, Classic Rock, Screamo, Emo, eh... any of that stuff really. When it comes to Techno I'm a little picky. Country is better than rap... I hate rap... alot... but I don't like country that much either. D=

Music most certainly does have an affect on people.
I like pretty much every kind of music, but my favourites are trance, metal and hard rock. My favourite artists are Astral Projection, Iron Maiden, VNV Nation, Symphony X, AC/DC, DragonForce, and Children Of Bodom, to name a few.
