i currently fence epee. i love it.
but i want to do the others. i know how to fence em, i don't have anyway to practice other than tournaments and also i would hafta buy gear. ahhaha. that means lames and foil/sabers..... i already got bodycords for em on accident. hahaha. maybe foil since sabre means you need a new mask....
what you think?

Well, I went from Epee to sabre once. But you're right, equipment is expensive^^; Foil is a lot of fun. Not quite as fast as sabre, but faster than some epee. As a sabre fencer myself, you probably know what I'd recommend lol^^; But foil would be less expensive to break into. Easier too, if you don't have a sabre coach. I believe tht sabres are less expensive though (no wiring). It would be a matter of whether a sabre and it's respective lame would be cheaper than foil and it's lame^.~ lol I'm probably no help at all! Go with what you like best^.~

Foil is great to learn for technic... You learn a lot of useful moves you can use in Sabre.. So.. I say foil... ^^

but how can an epee ever be a foil, the blade is completely different and foils are much more flexable...

The general movements you make to strike your opponent is the same... The only MAJOR differences are the swords and the target area.
Yeah. Sabre stuff costs a TON, I'm hoping to get my own electric gear.... I have a mask.. But that's it... Oh well.

New here so feel free to disregard but...
It is my opinion you should always crosstrain between the three whenever possible. Each has it's own unique qualities that can be used to improve your total fencing game.

I would say sabre.
If you're planning on competing, then stick primarily with one weapon. I think sabre would benefit epee the greatest, because distance is a huge part of sabre, as is epee. It also teaches you to move faster, because epeeists are sloths. If you do any two weapons, though, foil and sabre are best suited to each other, due to the ROW issues.

But sabre is the most fun. Do foil and epee.
