The Disgaea anime that is.
For those of you that have (even parts of it), what did you think?
Dota thinks:
The anime series was...different. It really depends on if you were looking forward to something that ran like the game, or a "fresh" look on things. I don't find the story as emotionally appealing. By the time you get to the end, there really doesn't feel like a reason for Laharl to do what he does. What the anime DOES do is pick up on certain left behind things like the Pringer X, Sardia, Maharl and some flashbacks of Krichevskoy. So in that aspect, it's good for fans.
A major minus was that the series was, in fact, only 12 episodes.

It mistold the story 100%, did not stay true to the style of humor, and it made Flonne less funny.
Despite all the aforementioed flaws it was still rather funny. It was a good anime that any Disgaea fan should see; Only after being warned of it not being the same, though. Oh, and they removed the zombie bit. But they did show Pringer X for the first time.
(That's not counting MK, where Pringer X isn't the prinnys' god.)

i didnt like the first episode because it was all wrong. Flonne doesn't wake laharl up, it was etna! gonk

I haven't played Hours of darkness, so I don't know I will like that more than the anime... well, if they would put the prinny baseball part it would be funnier... xp

I've only seen one bit of one episode. And that was the one with Sardia. I love her for some reason.
...it's probably the breasts.
Still both the Anime AND the Manga were different from the game. I rather liked the manga though <3

I think it's simply a case of writers trying to make something good even better....and failing. Happens all the time. Hellsing the Anime was veeeeery different to Hellsing the Manga, and it really seems to piss people off.

Only going on something I heard a while ago but. . . wasn't it the game which diverged from the anime and manga's story, not the other way around? confused
