If you haven't yet played Katamari Damacy, you are a horrible person.

It's very rare to see quirky titles like this actually make it over here. Gitaroo Man was one such title and it remains one of my favorite games ever. Now Katamari Damacy has reached that status. I doubt you will be able to find it if you don't get it soon... but damn, you owe it to yourself. And it's only $20. I have to agree with Tycho when I say it was the best $20 I've ever spent.

It is fun and ridiculously addicting. It was amazing. I bought it and played it until I beat it in one night- but I am far from done. I will strive to make bigger Katamari's, make bigger stars.

It truly is amazing. On the last level, my little Katamari started at a tiny 50cm in size. I had 25 minutes to get that little thing to at least 300 meters. So I started rolling around, collecting thumbtacks, bananas, steaks, small flowers. I was soon able to start collecting dogs and cats, rolling them up in my ball of trash, with baseball bats, desks, and televisions. In time I graduated to sucking up people by the dozen. My Katamari was approaching the size of a house. Cars could not escape me. Giant sunflowers and small trees were next on my agenda, and I continued exploring the island, gobbling up small forests hungrily into the Katamari.

Then I grabbed my first house. Entire burbs, homes full of screaming people, were rolled up into my mighty Katamari of doom. Electrical lines, streetlights, bulldozers, and anybody caught in my way were absorbed, screaming, into my giant Katamari. After sucking up most of the homes in the main city, I rolled my way to the port areas, picking up storage containers, and upon rolling into the sea I picked up sailboat upon sailboat. Giant swordifsh lept unwillingly into my giant mass of everything. I rolled through the sea to another island and grabbed another town. That's when I started pulling in skyscrapers. Downtown was embedded within my giant Katamari. After clearing that island I returned to the port of the first island, grabbing an oil tanker and a cruise ship, not to mention giant squids and octupi by the dozen. The docks themselves rolled up into my Katamari. I ventured again out to sea and starting picking up pieces of an archipelago and giant bridges spanning the larger islands together were not mighy enough to withstand me. In time I returned back to the main island, only to discover myself so huge that the entire island- lakes, cities, mountains and all- was now absorbable. And so I did. I continued my trek across the sea, grabbing every island in sight. I even conquered a strange 50 foot tall superhero, and let's not forget the mighty roar of Godzilla as I pulled him from the sea, only to then absorb the volcano sitting aotp the island he was terrifying, then taking the whole island. I tore airplanes from the sky- yea, I ripped the clouds from the air and brought them into my Katamari.

Nothing could stop me. Giant mushrooms, entire airports, gigantic islands- all mine.

I started the level at a size of 50 cm.

I ended at 790 meters, with the world as we know it gathered into my Katamari.

It was awe inspiring.

This game might just be what I spend the 20 dollars on I got for baby-sitting this weekend. 3nodding I just wish I could try for myself...

Are you sure? Think hard now....

It sounds wacky, but I like it. I must see if they have it for rental first...

Well, I'm pretty sure, but that could just be the new game excitement talking. I mean, what the hell else do I spend 20 bucks on? I would htink the best 20 bucks would be spent on a video game of some sort, but most games I buy are a whopping 50 smackers, and even the greatest hits titles that I've purchased for that low low price haven't entertained me as much as Katamari Damacy.

Quirky stuff like that never gets over here...

It's getting impossible to find now... better act fast XD

Um, Katamari Damacy is now going to be widely available for a while, and soon Katamari Damacy 2 will be released in America. EB should have the game in stock.
