Welcome to Sundri the safe haven for all Amps...and criminals. It's not a surprising sort of deal to learn that criminals and Amps live together, especially considering that Amps have to steal most things to get by unless they've somehow blended in with the rest of the population. Pubs and clubs and inns abound in this small city, slightly submerged underground. Many amps choose to live here, forming bands of amps and theives. Rival bands sometimes fight, but all in all, it's one of the more light hearted areas.

"...Strumming my pain with his fingers Singing my life with his words Killing me softly with his song Killing me sofly with his song Telling me whole life, with his words, Killing me softly With his song."
January let the melody escaping her echo off as the song ended to a lively applause. The bar was pretty full tonight. She took her bow and stepped off the stage to head back to her original post behind the bar counter. She smiled at her fans that had accumulated and started filling drink orders, regretting some as she was winked at. It was never something that she got used to. As the next performers played, she was lost in a different world, occasionally snapping back to take money and fill orders.
It was very much to her surprise as she heard her name being called again by the band. She couldn't say no, now that everyone was applauding her. So she walked back up to the stage and she let the band play the song's intro.
"My life my love, what I wanna say No words could ever portray...."

Kit sat at a table, hiding admist the shadows of the bar. He had been there for a while, and had considered moving on, but the girl who had been singing had caught his eyes. He knew there was something different about her, something different in her than everyone else that was there, regardless of the fact if she was an Amp or not.
He twirled what was left of the melting ice in his glass, as he debated to himself if he should go try to order a drink from her. Just as he had gained the courage to, she was back up on stage, and the ping ponging of thoughts and second guessing took his mind by storm once again as she performed.
Halfway through her song, Kit stood up, and went outside, to get a breath of fresh air, from the otherwise overwhelming atmosphere of the bar. He leaned up against the building, and closed his eyes, letting out a deep sigh, just thinking, and shaking his head at himself every once and a while, as the thoughts of his shyness and timidness strangled his mind more and more.
He pulled up his coat around him, sheilding himself from the chilly night air, but letting the darkness of the night surround him, being they had a familiar and understanding relationship with each other. A few people passesd him, either leaving or entering the establishment, avoiding the stange looking man, worried about what might happen if they wandered to close. Kit mostly ignored them, wrapping himself up in the night like a blanket.

"...Yours, Yours, I only want to be yours. Yours, yours, I only want to be yours."
And the piano took over the ending of the song, almost drowning beneath the applause. She smiled and bowed, finding her way through the hot, crowded bar, hoping to get some peace outside. Not to mention that it reeked of smoke and alcohol of all sorts.
When she finally made it outside, she was so relieved she let out a sigh of her own, closing her eyes to take a fresh breath of air. It felt good against her throat, which was sore by now. she slowly opened her eyes and went to lean on the post near the entrance of the bar.
The night was a bit chilly, but it didn't bother her. It was a welcomed change from the stuffy bar. Looking out into the starry night, she nodded at people coming in and going out, saying "hello" or "welcome", or "come again!"
Everyone earned a smile, and finally she noticed the stranger across from her. Oddly clothed perhaps but not scary. At least, not to her. Then again, she was odd that way. Smiling she gave him a wave and went back to looking at the stars.

Kit was still mostly lost in his thoughts and the n** of the air, having lost interest into what exactly had been going on in the world outside of his slight shivers. He heard the door open, and ignored her as she made her way to the post, only assuming that it was only another patron leaving after a night of fun and drinks.
He just happened to look up a moment before she waved, purley on intuition. Astonished to see her for a large variety of reasons, his could feel his eyes change colors with an ever so familiar tingle. Blinking a bit, and trying to shake it away, he looked back to her, hoping that his eyes were not making him stand out of place too much more than usual.
Entranced by her lighthearted movements, a smile broke his lips as he spoke.
"You did a wonderful job in there tonight,"
Kit almost didn't realize he had actually spoken to her, until the the last of his words left his throat, getting caught up in the sureal nature of the moment.

She smiled back at him and turned to face him, not really noticing anything about his eyes. Somehow, she hadn't thought that he was talking to her at first. His voice somehow didn't match his character. Then again, his character was mostly quiet, so it would have been hard to gauge.
"Thank you very much," she said cheerfully. For some reason, she felt charged up tonight. Somehow, she was calm at the same time. "Was there a particular song that you liked?"
Hoping to strike up some sort of conversation rather than driving someone away with awkward silence, January wondered who this person man was. For some reason "Desperado" started to play in her head.

He tried not to look at her too much as she spoke, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable, or make him seem like just another random face in the rowdy crowd.
Kit thought for a moment, not really sure what to say.
"Not really any favorites tonight, although I did enjoy whenever you sang... you have a very talented voice"
Cheeks blushed slightly, again caught up in what he had said after he said it, afraid he might seem like he was comming on to her. Fortunetly, with the cool air, cheeks were already slightly rosy, but the flush of color warmed his skin.

Jan smiled at him softly, blushing a bit herself. No one had ever said that before. At least, not in the same way he had.
"Well I suppose I owe you thanks again. Please let me know if there's ever a song you'd like to hear. I'd be happy to sing it for you."
Just then a breaze picked up and played with hair for a moment. She nodded to him politely and stood straight. "What's your name stranger?"

He nodded at her kind words, and then stuttered a bit as he tried to come up with his name.
"I'm Kit... and no longer a stanger. Yourself?"
Kit shook his head a little, not in denial, but to let his own hair flow, as the same gust of wind had moved it out of his favorite places to have it.
He could feel a slight tingle build up inside of him as she spoke, still unsure of if she was just being freindly or if true curiosity had sparked her interest. He hoped the tingle wasn't something that would turn a budding freindship into dust, but it did feel different this time than any others. Looking down at his palm for a quick instant, he made sure that it wasn't glowing, and felt better about his feeling toward her instantly.

"My name is January."
Her name always sounded funny to her. Like it really shouldn't be a name, but it was something she enjoyed none-the-less. It had been the one thing that connected her to her past. For some reason, Kit didn't seem like the average person to her. It wasn't in what he looked like. Moreso the way he spoke to her. Shaking off the feeling, she decided to continue.
"So then Kit, is there a song that is connected to your heart?"

The smile grew slightly more, now hearing her speak her own name. He had heard it when she was introduced on the stage earlier in the night, but was unsure if it was just for show or not.
"Not a lot is connected to my heart at the moment... and being I don't often travel this far into a city, I don't hear much music. People don't tend to sing when they live in half of a hole in the crumbled sidewalk... but it is the world we live in."

"I'm sure that there's still a song somewhere for you. There's one for everyone, ya know? Sort of like love."
Shrugging, she wondered to herself why she had just said that. Whatever the reason, it was pretty clear to her that she'd meant it.
"If you need a place to stay while you're in town, I have an extra room in my apartment. It's pretty much just an empty room. You could stay there for a while. It's supposed to rain in the morning," she said, pointing up for emphasis.
Realizing that it must have sounded sort of weird for a stranger to offer such a thing, Jan apologized.
"I'm sorry, that must have seemed a bit strange. You can forget it if you'd like."

Kit nodded.
"I'm sure there is, but I don't think I've found it yet... and even if I had, I may have let it slip through my fingers without knowing,"
That small tingle built up a little more inside of him as she offered a place for him to stay. Only moments ago, he was trying to fight past the shyness, and just order a drink from her, let alone have any sort of conversation. And now, she had offered him a room for the night.
Casually, he checked his other palm, making sure that it was still flesh toned, and unglowy.
Looking up as she pointed, he let out a little "Hmm..." as he contiplated a free shelter from it, or being stuck out in it. It didn't take long for him to decide, having spent too many cold nights in the rain as it was. Of course, spending one night like that is too many for most anyone.
"Depending on the person, it might be stange. If it's in your nature to offer a stranded soul a room for the night, I wouldn't see it as strange at all. And being you have offered, I don't find it strange. Even if the roof leaks, its better than being under a cloud,"
He smiled at her again. "Are you done with work for the evening? I wouldn't want you to just abandon your co-workers for some dark character in the middle of a busy evening,"

Giggling at his comment on her abandoning her coworkers, she shook her read head.
"Oh, like they do to me? I wouldn't dream of it. Besides, my shift ends in two minutes and I haven't had a break all night between bartending and singing."
Jan smiled at him, in disbelief that such a sense of humor lay within such an interesting person....dressed in black. It was almost ironic. She motioned for Kit to wait while she got her stuff.
"Just let me get my stuff from the back room."
And with that, she was off pushing her way through the bar's thinning crowd. She checked her calendar smiling at the fact that she didn't have to work for the rest of the week until someone called her and asked her to work for them.
"See ya next week guys!" she called cheerfully as she slipped her coat on over her bar shirt and grabbed her purse. As January made it out of the bar, she was pleased to see that Kit was still there.
"Ready to go?"

Kit chuckled at her comment as well, and then nodded as she went to go pick up her things. He was almost suprised that she came back so soon, if at all, still slightly unsure if she was legitimatly freindly and sincere as she appeared to be. Kit was always cautious about such things anymore, having been betrayed quite severly by many he had met in the past.
With a smile and another nod, he spoke.
"Yes, I am. Which way do we go?"
On instinct, he looked both ways up and down the sidewalk, taking care to make sure no one that looked suspicious or threatening was around.
