Yes I said hell and that's where Gaia is going. I look around a little bit and find some discussions that might be interesting so I sign up. I go back and the discussions I had found, and where enjoying have been either one: been taken over by cyber whores and chat/leet users, two: have been buried because of threads created by said cyber whores/chat/leet users, or three: Have been deleted because someone came in and got a mod buddy to delete it presumably because they disagreed with it. I have seen the later happen to a few threads in the GD forum. This last one is honestly the most disapointing. Are these things in my mind or is gaia really going to hell? I'm new but I'm already dissapointed and thinking of quiting, is there a saving grace on gaia?

I agree in part. There are far too many people on gaia who are just in it for the the avis. The avis were just supposed to be an side fun thing to do and the emphasis was supposed to be on the discussion and it's become more of a oo look at my cool avi got more stuff than you... (I apologize for the bad grammar I just couldn't force myself to use n00b talk that was the closest I could get) Yes it has fallen to a less desireable mass but then again the masses of america seem to be heading in that direction so it makes sense that a largly american used forum would follow that trend. Unfortunate yes but "that's the way the cookies crumbles"

I suppose you're right in part, the avis are more of a focus than they should be. If you look at the front page it's pretty much all about the avi. I have to wonder if the number of new undesirables would go down if the front age was changed, I've seen screen shots of what it was before. I honestly think that the web designers for gaia where noticing a networkwide drop in activity so they decided to pander to the lowest common denominator. I find that really frustrating but I guess in all of it I've found an almost active place that seems to have at least one like minded person.

Well, it is going to hell in one way. It is not the people, it is an orginization of peoples. 4chan, 7chan, gurochan, ect... They are invading on a daily basis because apparently people on gaia are "emofags." I go on 4chan regularly and people there are not civilized and they don't care about anything except for taking down gaia because they think their good like that. Now, there are some other 4channers that are different, I can grant you that. But most of the majority is really like the crazed /b/tards. They are pretty good with computers and will just change their IP's and make a new account. They've been doing this for a while now, and finally their gaining more people to do it... Which frightens me.

Well that may be but I do have to agree it burns a bit more every day. It's quite depressing really. I know some people that have been banned for no good reason really, and yet we're bombarded with assholes and uber n00bs every day. In fact I think I may very well basically quit coming onto gaia accept for events and things like that...it's really a pain. Not to ention the conversation in most places sucks.

*sigh* I did find one possibly redeaming thing about gaia there's an american military guild on gaia. Maybe there's hope for it yet.
