Biohazard EXTREME

Yeah. This movie came out a while ago, but I didn't get a chance to see it until recently. Personally, I loved it. It didn't try to update the classics. It's still horny and sleepy teens getting slashed to bits. It's what we fell in love with the originals for.

Personally, the biggest disappointment about that movie was the ending. I think that ending was appropriate for theatres. But on the DVD, they really should have made two extra endings, each for a one victorious villain. Freddy or Jason.

This thread, however, is not about the movie, but about what I consider to be, two of the best Horror movie villains of all time.

Personally, I like Freddy much better. I watched Freddy movies since I was 2 years old. He was like one of my childhood heros. I remember I cut up my grandpa's glove (because it looked very creepily like Freddy's glove) and tried sticking knives into it. I was a messed up kid, though. But Freddy was always my favorite. He kills you in your dreams. How creepy is that? I mean, you can't run away from your dreams. Also he actually had a theme song, not just the "Kh, kh, kh, Ch, ch, ch" sound effects. which had their effect, but freddy's music was down right creepy. And he actually had a signature weapon. The glove with knives in it. It creeps me out to just see the shadow of it. He scrapes it agains metal. And his hat and sweater. Awesome. Sure, Jason has the goalie mask, but that's about it. He uses anything he can for weapons and his costume was never that signature. So Freddy is definitely the more creative of the two. And he has all kinds of powers.

The interesting thing about Nightmare on Elm Street vs. Friday the 13th is that Friday the 13th always scared you with what you CAN'T see. You know Jason is near, but you don't know where or when he'll attack. Whereas with Freddy, they scared you with massive amounts of gore, and other effects. Both great series, but Freddy gets my vote.

I've got mixed feelings on this one......on one hand, Freddy has style and pizazz, and alot of personality. He's one kick-a** monster....b***h!

On the other hand, I've always been fond of the slow, quite, but very threatening and unstoppable juggernaut types, which Jason does a great job of representin' (though I think Mr. X from RE2 nailed it way better).

But.....I guess style wins out in this case. Go Freddy domokun

I disagree. I find Freddy to be down-right annoying. Sure, he's a super-natural psycho-killer with a sense of humor, but Jason is all business.

Freddy toys with you while Jason... well, he bludgeoned a girl to death with a tree because she tried to hide in a sleeping bag. Dumb girl, awesome kill.

Jason gets my vote, even if his future-self sucked. (JasonX- bleh)

Yeah.. But... I mean, what's the point. You have to toy with your victims before you kill them. It's more sadistic that way. Hell when I go to do my killings... Er... I mean... If I was a psycho killer, I'd be toying with my victims. They'd know exactly who I was before they died, and they'd die scared, not in the middle of intercourse, having a knife planted in their backs.

So, I just found out that Wes Craven doesn't consider Nightmare on Elm Street to be a horror movie. He called it an impressionist thriller.

Poor Wes. Must suck to not have real creative control over an entire franchise that you more or less started up yourself.

Yeah, but he said it about the first movie.

And nevertheless... Wes Craven made 2 of the best movies in the franchise: The original and New Nightmare, I thought those two were the best. Freddy vs. Jason was cool too, but that's a hybrid.

Well, I watched the extras, Wes Craven really put a lot of time into the creative process of Freddy's design..

Also, I just bought this book called, "Ripped from a Dream. A Nightmare on Elm Street Omnibus" It's truly amazing, set of three novels. Very well written, at least the first one is so far, I sat there on the Subway car for ten minutes cringing at a gory scene.

So here's a random question for any people who consider themselves Nightmare on Elm Street fans:

In what state is Springwood located?

Has anyone been checking out that Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash comic? It's supposed to be based on the actual movie script that was written up as a potential sequel before Raimi decided he didn't want anyone to mess with Ash right now.
