He had addressed the situation with an exactness and perfection that went even beyond his position.
Exactly one week prior to his intended day of visit a letter, a letter arrived at Reus's tower. It was finely crafted, golden letters engraved on ecru stationary and wax-sealed with an elaborate 'L'....it read as follows.
The Letter Magi Council Member, Lady Reus,
Greetings, wise Mistress of the Magi Council. As this is our first introduction I pray you forgive me if the request in this letter is too forward. I have come upon something quite unique. It looks to be, to my untrained eye, a creation orb. With your permission I would like to call upon you the following week, the midday of Dewnes.
I look forward to your response. Your humble servant, Sir M. E. Luger III
The whole of it reeked of near painful formality.
If a response is received and the time agreed upon he will arrive promptly at midday, groomed and tailored as though he were meeting a most royal princess.
Sir M. E. Luger the third rapped on the door to the tower with a thin but firm hand, awaiting permission to enter....

Reus leaned against the wall, watching the obscenely pristine man waiting for someone to answer her door. As her assistant had taken ill, Reus was stuck doing her own dirty work. From the looks of him, a wicked smile stretched across her face. Sir Loogie arrived at precisely the time they agreed upon dressed to the nines as if he convening with royalty.
"Looking for someone?" Reus said, playing with her gloves and leaning against the wall with a bemused smile.
Her long white hair was pulled up into an ornate twist, with waved sections streaming out. Having lit her longer waist coat on fire Reus was one layer lighter, with only her singed blouse and ruffled mini-skirt making her look more like a servant than a member of the council.
Reus spent the greater part of two and a half weeks simply laughing at the letter she received. Though she was certain the guy's heart was in the right place, the female Magi couldn't simply bring herself to find the words to express her feelings-- without sounding like she was making fun of him. She merely waited for his response

His dark head swiveled around at the sound of Reus's voice. Having never seen the Magi before he did not know what to expect. He certainly wasn't expecting....this. His sharp chin went up with an air of snobbery and his lips thinned at her words. But catching better sight of her stopped his movements, her bare thigh and unkept clothes made his angular cheekbones flush pink.
Sir Micah E. Luger smoothed his slender hands over his perfectly tailored grey clothes, regaining his dignity and taking a few steps closer to her.
Seeing so much barred flesh made his eye twitch with discomfort. He cleared his throat and sniffed, "I am here to see Lady Reus. Is your mistress here?"

Reus cocked her head and gave him a side long glance. Lazily reaching up, she pulled the ribbon from her hair slowly and the piles of curls fell over her shoulders and down her back, turning completely pin straight. Her mischievous orange eyes glittered with amusement. This guy clearly had no idea who she was. Seeing him flinch at her unkempt appearnace, made her hesitant to give up her own identity. As he took a few steps closer with the flush in hs cheeks, she locked her eyes with his and took confident strides toward him.
"Yeah, my mistress is here," Reus said, letting giving him a playful pout, touching the lapel of his coat gently with her gloved fingers. Stepping closer and closer, the Magi councilwoman was practically toe to toe with the man before she leaned close to his ear and whispered.
"Right here," she whispered, dropping the volume lower, making no concession to conceal her grin. "I'm Reus."

The long glance made him stop in his tracks and if he had any less control over himself he would have gulped audibly. Micah, in all his forty eight years, had never indulged with what he would call 'weakness of the flesh.' He lived alone. He had no lady in his life, nor had he since he was a young man.
Women were ever surrounded by a cloud of mystery to him. Worthy of a poem, worthy of verse and song. But not something you get involved with.
Or within 3 feet of.
He stiffened when her hand touched his lapel and it was only pure will that kept him from jerking away from the young lady. His face had gone from pink, to white to bright red in the span of a few moments.
The touch of her breath on his ear finally made him jerk back a full two steps. Surprise and embarrassment was on his face. In three heartbeats it changed to indignation, to realization and then shock.
"L-l-Lady Reus....." Shutting his eyes he took a deep breath and tried to regain his calm. "Forgive me, Lady, I-....didn't realize. That was terribly rude of me." Despite his try for dignity, he still looked as though he'd leap out of his socks at any movement from her.
"Forgive me." He followed those final words with a crisp bow.

Reus sighed in amusement, her smile widening across her glossy lips. Casually she waved her hand, laughing at Micah's formality while trying not to besmirch his honor. Patting him on the shoulder, Reus walked past him toward the doors.
"Just relax, Sir Luger," Reus cooed, rapping on the door with the back of her knuckles. The door groaned and creaked open, revealing a large alabaster staircase, spiraling up toward her chambers. "No need to apologize. I must look a horrid sight."
Another wave and her unkempt hair, smoothed itself and the charcoal scortchings on her clothes and smears on her skin vanished. "Follow me. I'll only need a few moments to clean myself up, but you can enjoy tea in my study in the mean time."

He almost collapsed in relief as she passed him by. One thing was certain, his nerves were rattled and he'd need a shot of good scotch when he got home. With a deep intake of breath he fidgeted with his clothes and hair before he turned to follow her.
"It's quite alright Lady Reus, please take your time." Voice going faint at the sight of her magic. "And thank you again for agreeing to see me....." He lingered back at a respectable distance as they climbed the long staircase.

Flinging the massive door open with mere snap of her fingers, Reus momentarily taken aback at the sight of her chambers completely and utterly clean. Her assistant clearly took it upon himself to organize her chaos, as her study looked like a battle zone. Tea service fo two waited in her sitting area, and a soothing teal and blue fire roared in the hearth.
"Have a seat on the blue sofa, Sir Luger," Reus smiled, making a beeline for the purple curtained area near the book casings. "I'll be back momentarily."
Waving her hand again, Sir Luger's tea cup filled itself. It's sweet aroma beckoning her guest to take a seat and enjoy. Not that Reus cared, but the dressing curtain was opaque, and her silhouette was vaguely visable behind the many layers. She changed slowly, trying not to un unlady like or graceless.

Walking in to her perfectly clean chambers he noted that it was exactly as he expected it to be. Certainly he had simply caught Lady Reus at a difficult moment and she had some difficulty composing herself. He silently assured himself of this several times over as he thanked her quietly and sat down in the sofa.
"My thanks, Lady Reus. Again, please do not rush on my account..." He said dryly, "I fear I've caught you at a bad time..."
The aroma of the tea was heavenly, and he took the cup and saucer in his hands, holding it as etiquette demanded. Sir Micah Luger paused to savour the scent before sipping. It was that exact moment his gaze happened towards the purple curtain, the movements of the shadowed form catching his attention.
The sip goes awry and he chokes, trying in vain to stiffle his coughs. "This....tea.....is quite good...." Pointedly he turns his back to purple curtain and focuses across the room.

"Sir Luger? Are you all right?" Reus called back, propping one long leg on a foot stool so as to avoid putting a run in her stockings as she pulled them on. "Try adding an extra slice of lemon. It gives the tea a little kick."
Slipping a dress over head, the long layers floated down. Stepping into her shoes, Reus emerged from the curtain in a modest floor length dress with thigh high slits. The high collar, slits and lack of sleeves were trimmed in a swirling cloud pattern on fine brocade. Pulling a semi-sheer robe over her shoulders, she seemed to float over the pristine floor to her usual seat by the teal and sapphire toned flames.
"Thank you for your patience, kind Sir," Reus said taking her seat and crossing one long leg over the other. "Now that we have tea. Let's get down to business, shall we?"
