Fraggles average about eighteen inches in height, come in all shapes and sizes, colors and ages, and have an endless supply of energy. Fraggles like to sing, dance, wear silly hats, go to parties, feasts, gather things, cheer, stomp doozers, explore and have adventures. There are approximately ten thousand fraggles all together, but we get to know only a few of them well.
gobo:
gobo's bravery and his ability to concentrate on something fr more than three seconds make him the leader of his group of fraggle friends. He's the organiser, the instigator. Everybody admires gobo. When he rushed back from the workshop and tells them all about his adventures, his friends listen respectfully. They don't believe him, but they still admire him. Gobo's closest friends are wembley,red,mokey and boober. These five fraggles are the main character of the show.
Wembley :
Wembley is the kid brother of the group.The word wembley is an ancient fragglish word meaning, "Small, Insecure, and desperate to please." Thats wembley, all right.
Mokey:
Mokey is the dreamer. She is sensitive, observant, quiet and artistic
Red:
Red is impetuous and enthusiastic, even by fraggle standards. She's always more than egar to take on any adventure. By the time gobo says, "Go!"Red has already gone, come back and sung a song about it.
Boober:
bppber is chronically pessimistic and depressed. As far as boober is concerned, April showers bring nothing but colds and fever.
Junior Gorg:
Junior is the dim-witted young Gorg prince who loves tending his garden and trying to catch the Fraggles who steal his radishes. He is one of the three Gorgs seen on Fraggle Rock, along with his Ma and Pa.
Ma Gorg:
Ma is kind-hearted, but not where those horrible Fraggles are concerned. She is one of the three Gorgs seen on Fraggle Rock, along with her husband, Pa and their son, Junior.
Pa Gorg:
Pa fancies himself King of the Universe, even though he has no one to rule (besides Junior). He is one of the three Gorgs seen on Fraggle Rock, along with his wife, Ma and their son, Junior.
Doozers - The Builders
The Doozers are about six inches tall, or knee-high to a Fraggle. They live and work - mostly work - inside Fraggle Rock. They build and build and build magnificent bridges, towers, monuments, roads and anything else they can dream of. They use vegetable protein sticks, processed by mining turnips and radishes in the Gorgs' Garden, as their building material. If you stopped long enough to realize it, you might say, "You know, those Doozers do the things they do because of the dreams they dream."
Even though the Fraggles don't pay much attention to the Doozers, they do have a keen interest in their architecture - it tastes delicious! Fortunately, the doozers don't mind that the Fraggles eat their constructions. In fact, they appreciate it because it gives them the space in which to build better ones.
Majory the Trash Heap:
Also known as the trash heap. madam heap, and The Oracle
The Trash Heap lives in a pit in the woods behind the Gorgs' castle. She is a living compost heap - an ancient collection of old grapefruit rinds, grass clippings, tin cans, coffee grounds, potato peels and assorted trash which one day mysteriously came to life. The Fraggles brave the dangers of the Gorgs' Garden to seek the Trash Heap's advice in time of trouble. The Trash Heap is an oracle. She sees all, she know all, she is all. The Trash Heap may be the Creative Force behind the universe. Then again she may not be.
She is definatley home for Philo and Gunge, her two rodent companions. They act as her interpreters, her agents, her best friends. Philo and Gunge are the only ones allowed to call the Trash Heap by her first name, Marjory. If you go to see the Trash Heap, Philio and Gunge will let you know when your time is up: "The Trash Heap had spoken!"
