eat lollies and be happy

Well, a few months ago I met this guy on Gaia and we got to talking. I then found out that he's 15, lives in Timaru (about 8 hours away from me). Sometime last month I was talking about this guy who got to thinking I was his girlfriend which I wasn't, and Jonnie (my friend I met on Gaia) ended up asking me if I wanted to be his, and I said yes. It's almost been a month since we've been together and I haven't actually met him (I've seen photos, but that's it). But I'm going to be away for our one month (next monday, 25th) so I wanted to make it up to him, we both came up with either he could come up and stay for a week (Next week is the holidays for us) but he has no money, or a job. Then I thought of maybe going to stay with him for a few days, but my mum said no.
I was then talking to a friend of mine about it and he said that it's probably because my mum thinks we'll end up getting up to "stuff", but I don't want to get up to "stuff" at the age of 14.
Anyway, I really want to met Jonnie in person, but how do I get my mum to let me go down or let him come up here?

Well, to me, you're kinda young to be 8 hours away on your own.
I might try asking my mom to go with me, or if he came down here I'd see if she'd be okay with him sleeping in the livingroom with my door locked or something.
Maybe the two of you will be unsupervised for too long?
If that was the case I'd probably see if getting an adult to chaperone that I didn't mind, and that my mom trusted would be a good idea.

Funnily enough, my mum actually caved and is letting him come up here in the second week of the holidays. So he'll have my room and I'll be in my sister's room. But that's only if his parents say it's ok for him to come up.

Hello, that's always neat to get to meet knew people especially if it's for the first time after knowing them through just chatting online. I wish you luck meeting him.

On reason why your mom might be worried about you going to visit him is because he might not really be a 15 year old guy who lives a few miles away. There are actually people online, men, woman, who talk to teens online ask questions like where you live where you go to school, how you feel about things... they seem innocent and everything but they're just trying to find info about you. But that is probably not the case, just be careful wink

But that was a good idea to have him come to your house. It's safer that way.

But I wish you the best of luck biggrin Have fun. Let us know how it goes.

RohanGal: She's got a bit more proof about who he is than what he says. It's safe to say that he's not a creepy 30-year-old stalker.

Good to know wink I figured she probably did have more than just his name age and picture. Just wanting to be helpful.

Hope her the best in meeting her friend! biggrin

Thanks RohanGal, I know what you mean, and I do know more then just his name, age and what he looks like.

It sounds like you two are gonna be fine. 3nodding
Maybe when you're a little older, your mom will let you go to his house. I know how Mom's can be. And, internet dating isn't as bad as people lable it as. I met my girlfriend online, and she turned out going to my SCHOOL. Weird, huh? rolleyes

Cool. Ya, he and I still think my mum has something against him, even though she keeps saying 'no'. rolleyes

She's probably just leary Lollies. When we first got a computor (which was WAY later then it should have been) my dad was convinced that even if we didn't have the internet people could use it to hunt us down and take us from our beds in the dead of the night. It's parent's jobs to be over protective, it's how they keep us safe...even when it drives us UP A WALL. lol

You Live On The Edge?

My mom would freak out, too!
If I were to ever ask something like that her response might be: "If you wanna' get raped and killed so bad, sure. Have fun!"
(My mom and I use sarcasm so often it's a second language to us.)

Well I Fell Off Some Time Ago..
