Well, recently we found out that my father had cancer. We had no clue how serious it was, and I was really optimistic about it. I was pretty sure that he'd be cured. But yesterday, we went to the doctor, and he said that my dad had a serious lung cancer that couldn't be cured. They could extend his life expectancy, but not cure him with kimothereopy. Does anybody know how long that would help him live. I mean, he's my daddy, and he's only 50. I thought for sure that he had at least 25 years left in him. I can't lose him. If anybody knows approx how much kimo will extend his live expectancy or any way to make the rest of my dad's life good, or any other advise, I'd love that. Thank you so much. crying

I'm so sorry, But... I heard that Kemo might actually reduce the life expectancy by a month or so. We learned about it in Health just last week. 3 If you need anyone to talk to, I'm here for you.

Keep in mind, I can't really remember the exact time it takes away. Oh, But, I learned that there's about a 1 or 2% chance he will live, And Louis Armstrong lived, So, Why not?

Ah; Kemo's a roll of the dice. On one hand, he could be given a good five or more years (no idea if that's right or not). But, on the other, it could take away some time. But, if he does go through with it, you're warned: He will be very, very sick, and very weak. It'll be really hard to watch, but the Kemo might just give him even more time to live. :] I'm sure he'll make the right decision. And, if you have any questions, ask the doctor--he'll know ALOT more than we will. <3

Sweetie I'm so, so sorry to hear about that...I don't know a lot about chemotherapy, but you could always look on the internet for resources. I'm sure your dad will make the right decision, and I hope that you can stay strong through this difficult time.

And the docs said that he had a good chance now, and he said he felt better after his recent first kemothereopy.

I'm really sorry to hear that. sad
But I suggest you let him know how much he means to you. You never know when it could be your last day, or even his.
Try not to get to worried about it. Everything happens for a reason even though we might not know it. And hopefully he lived a long, fulfilling life.
Just wish for the best in him and pray for him. :c

I know people who have survived it. Keep faith. Cancer can be on the passive side and the person can live a long full life.
