you know how people say that people can only use like 10 percent of their brain...Well what do you think we can do if we could use 100???
My oppinion is...I think god is a being that found out how to use 100% and he was really powerfull. so powerfull he could create planets and living life forms using his mind. I think we can do anything as long as we put are minds to it (sounds corny I know). But those people that say they can float in their sleep or see the future...I think thats a part of their brain that they havn't masterd yet, but if they meditate on it enough then they might be able to do it...
Thats my oppinion, don't rag on it...or I'll use my brain to kill you like so... burning_eyes ...jk

The Bible states that God was always here. "In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth." Implying that God was here. I'm not ragging on you, AT ALL, because I had questions about religion. But I have become enlightened and I realize things now and religion and God have become more clear. The book Angels & Demons by Dan Brown led me to question religion. As the book progressed and in the final few chapters came, it went deep into religion and it enlightened me. I don't believe that God was a being that learned to use 100% of his brain power. I believe the Word of the Bible when It says that God was here ever since He began the Word of the Bible. Meaning... God has always had the power He has now and there was no "beginning" of God. He has just always been here.
Of course, this is just what I believe. I'm not trying to force this down your throat at all. These are just my views on your statement.

I'm sure that the whole breakdown of only using 10% of our brain is due to a comparison of ALL of its functions.
Example: the compulsion of breath, to pump your heart, produce bodily fluids, breakdown food, absorbtion of minerals, grow your hair/nails, immune system and such.
To having to conciously think of doing all of these acts just to survive would be the acitivity of your day. Perhaps, there is something to what you suggest (though I'm staying away from the "God" issue). The elimination of a "sub-concious" mind/thought. Everything would be upfront and essentially on a see-how-it-is basis for you. No more denial, feelings you don't understand, no more self-analysising, etc.
ANYWAY, that takes away from the topic. But the idea of finding a metaphysical use for the human mind would be pretty cool.

What I dont like about the bible is...wicca (the religion...or paganism...almost simalar) were around before god was even mentioned...and theres evidence...not sure where but people found some.
But I've seen some pretty strange things in my life, like people getting shot in the brain and living even though half their brain is on the floor, And magnetic people, or people that can withstand huge ammounts of electricity (Im talking like enough to power cars). Ive seen people bring a knife to their arms (a sharp one at that) and they dont have a scratch on them. Or people that jump over trucks right when their about to get hit (I mean jump). The brain can do many strage things, And I believe it's because your using powers that you didn't know you had.
If you've read the bible, people used to live to be 200 to 300 years old, but slowly that began to change and people got dumber, and didn't pay much attention to school or anything. Thats when the percent began to decrease.
I believe, like I said, if you put your mind to it, you could stop a bullet, or move mountains with your mind, But you have to believe you can.

There've been lots of suggestion focused around people that can withstand, endure, and create spectacular feats.
The super jumping man, an intense need for survival and an incredible dose of adrenaline and such were rush to the man's aid. A symbiosis of mind and body, or concious and un-concious for survival.
The knife thing...the only thing I could put in would be a "calloused" hand. Who knows.
As for the pagans. We can take "Christmas" for example, originally known as the "Winter Solstice". The idea of bringing a tree into the house was so the farmers could have a pseudo shrine/ritual/offering. A plea to the Gods to bring summer around again. The farmers also lit Candles on the trees boughs to symbolise the warmth and sunlight to grow their crops.

A man was up on a ladder. A very high ladder. He had a drill that was weighted down very heavily in the back. The auger bit was 11 or so inches long. The man lost his balance. They teach you, if you're a worker on a ladder, to throw your drill out away from you so you don't land on it. He threw it bad. The bit landed straight up and the man fell on it. It pierced through his eye and out the other side of his head. He lived.
I don't know WHAT kept him alive. Whether it be adrenaline or God... a miracle happened that day. I believe miracles happen through the grace of God. Another example:
A girl was hours away from entering surgery because she had lukemia and required a bone marrow transplant. They did a screening on her and it showed NO traces of the cancer in her. She was miraculously healed. There was no medicine that healed her. There was no transplant before that. Just out of the blue it was gone. I believe that was God's grace that saved her this way. It was also reported on the news, not just read.
I know religion is a touchy subject and I'm sorry if I'm getting too deep. But I'm just trying to either A) Enlighten you and help you see, or B) explain that there is more than 1 possible explaination than using your brain at full potential.

Kingtard, I accidentally edited/deleted your post. You can post again. But I don't believe we are using our brain power to the maximum.

Theres been lots of things like that, maybe im wrong about what I believe but...mabe somthing else happend.
and all those people that you say could have been saved by god, why doesn't he save poor people or homless that are starving on the streets?
I just dont know what to believe.
If only one person could find out how to use the 100% (if it's true) than we could stop all that.

*keeps having to stray from personal theories of Christian Relgion*
I guess, "the hightened cynic is a fallen idealist", eh?
Anyway, Kingtard, I see what you mean and, yeah, it'd be very cool to have some sort of a Psychic-esque ability, but...as things stand now...there are thousands of people these days that don't even use 5% of their brains. xp

God I wouldn't be suprised if there were people who couldn't even use 1% lol xd
But another thing I hear, is about how special people (Mental not trying to be mean) have special powers that they can use. Do you think thats true???

I just dont know what to believe. If only one person could find out how to use the 100% (if it's true) than we could stop all that. Okay, this is truly one of the most debated questions about religion. "Why does God let suffering and pain happen?" "What kind of God would let us suffer?" Yes, God allows suffering to happen. It's payment, sort of, for Original Sin. Adam & Eve took a bite of the forbidden fruit in the Garden. That gave birth to Original Sin. Defiance of God. We all sin everyday, basically. God punishes sinners, as he punished Adam and Eve. I don't really know, for sure, how to answer this question, though. But pain and suffering was what was SAID to happen. It was known.

I'm still put off from the idea of all of us being decendants. The idea of inbreeding is appauling, especially, when the church (Houses to advocate God's word) doesn't condone incest.
Not to mention the chromosome clash. The combing of simliar DNA strands cause increadible birth defects and increased death rates. Survival for incestrual offspring have low life expectantcies.
All in all, I think Blade and I could have a keen debate. I, obviously, hold faith in a "logical" sense whereas his is more Faith/Belief based. If I got you wrong, I meant no offense.

Kingtard, God did not plan for them to eat the fruit. They did it themselves. Thus, the BIRTH of Original Sin.
Dragosani Kain, you're looking at this at a physical and scientific level. Science is progressing fast and faith is having trouble keeping up. Yes, we could have a very heated discussion on this.
