This document is a work in progress but here are the basics:

1. Gaia's Rules Apply. Rules and Guidelines, Terms of Service

1a. Regarding "intimate" chat: Just because you are in a guild does not mean you are invisible. Couples and/or lonely hearts caught doing anything involving "petting" or above will be booted, blacklisted and not asked back. Same goes for individuals caught soliciting private conversations even SUSPECTED of being of that nature. As well, if you're planning on having a hug and kiss chat DO NOT take it to the RP forum.

2. Keep the peace. This is generally covered in rule #1 but bears a mention anyway. Settle your problems with civility--or at the very least out of here. I don't want to have to ban anybody. Need mediation: contact myself or another crew member.

3. Do not Spam! No, seriously. As the guild develops I will try to cover all your spammy little bases (that I feel need covering anyway.) Outside links only in their appropriate subforums/threads and no page stretching (most especially of a bottom scrollbar nature.) Essays I don't so much mind but bumping (especially in "blocks") is a big no-no (there's a thread for bumps, go there.) I don't care if you nudge your threads but make sure they've fallen off the first page and try to be a little more clever than: "BUMP"

Note: Unlike many, I don't consider posting after yourself spamming or bumping (unless it's obviously bumpy or spammy.) Just thought I'd make that clear. And as of this amendment ( 8/07/08 ) there are still so few of us that finding a place to post in general is tricky--unless of course you're just trying to keep up with my rampant thinking-aloud XD. As well, it takes a good long while for posts to fall off the first page.

3a. Regarding image postings: 550 x 550 pixels and 100kb max (--total for multiple images in a post. That's a little over legal signature limit) or LINK the image(s). When in doubt, link. If you don't know how to find image dimensions: LINK.

3b. Regarding threads: No one will get in trouble for not including a poll in their threads. However, creating threads just for the sake of polls is whee! I don't require relevance or discussion, just an adherence to these rules and if at all possible a way of marking said threads so that there aren't a lot of repeat titles. It's hard enough to find threads you've been/voted in on the new forum system without a full page of threads titled: Fish

3c. Some threads will have individual rules. As long as those rules do not conflict with Gaia's rules or the Temple rules please respectfully follow them.

4. Don't beg. Nobody likes that. (Ok, I don't like that.) The Commerce Subforum should handle most of your needs from questing to collecting to trading and so on.

5. No huge Towers. Go up to 4 or 5 quotes maximum. Anything beyond that is completely unnecessary and will get threads locked at best.

6. Respect the people who work here. But not to exclusion.
We should all be civil--if not friendly. (See rule #2)

6a. Bad days are allowed. Just don't get out of hand. ^_^

7. Have fun! It's required!! ;D

8. Don't neglect the RAoK. It's a good thread full of good people and the last thing in the world I want is for it to die off--most especially because of this guild. sad
