Articula. It was once a great land. Lush and green, where daytime and nighttime ran an even amount of time. The air was always crisp and cool. The water was pure no matter where you got it. The people here were of different humanoid creatures from a human, to an elf, to a dwarf. They once lived in peace and happiness. Then…The dark one came. A man, a sorcerer, who wanted control of the world. He made the darkness come.

Articula. Now its where the river runs blood red and daylight never comes. The moon overhead is full and crimson showing the evil that rules the land. The darkness is unruly, being controlled by the dark one himself. Only light can chase the darkness away. The creatures of dark are also under the dark one’s control. The air is always cold and evil.

A hundred years passed and Articulains find themselves serving the dark one or rebelling against him. Which side would you choose?

Needed:
Rebels
Loyalists
The Dark One
Other ones..Like neutral

Freedom….What is it? Like on the wings of a halk…Simply not troubled by the world, free to do what ever you wish…Whenever you wish. No chains to hold you back, yet…We are never truly free…We DO have chain, ones that fate have shackled to us for an eternity. That sample of freedom may last for a moment, yet eventually you shall hit the ground. One day of Freedom…And the next is of pain.

The bright blue sky was scattered with dainty flufflyclouds. The sun shone brightly above the dark clouds that lay beneath that layer of sky. A lone halk breached that surface of gray, letting out fair cry in the skeptical of beauty, he then fell back beneath the dark looming clouds, no back in view of the dank scenery of the forest below. Dark Rain clouds loomed ahead, like they mostly did. The halk screeched again, finding a warm air current then rushing up beneath it, banking to the left then gliding through the air. The simple freedom of his flight just…Awe-ing (Sp? XD)

Far below this, gentle footsteps padded through the forest. The trees whispered as sighed as the maiden made her way through. The animals did not scatter, nor the trees fall silent….She was welcome here, not feared to the creauturs of the forest. Her scent was life, a mixture of rosemary and lilies, or the first sweet patch of fruit after the spring defrosting. Her sweet scent drifted through the forest, leaving the animals relaxed and untensed.

The maiden her self was quite beautiful, something exotic and rare, holding some features of both races. Her ears were slightly pointed, enough to distinguish from a humans, yet less then an elf’s. Her face heald an almost angelic beauty, yet it was more ethereal and wild. Like her own heart. Long straight locks of blonde made it’s way to about mid back, waterfalls of gold that bounced lightly at the small of her back. Her figure was was slender and just…Apeasable to many an eye. Her orbs were of the dark forest green, with a lime tinge wrapped about the black islands at the center of the green forests of her eyes. She was an inspicible beauty, rare…Exotic..Different from both elf or human….She was indeed a Half elf, yet her age only reached to be about 48 right now…She looked no older then 21. She was a creature of grace this half elf, indeed….She always loved to dance.

Two scimitars bounced lightly at her slender waist as her astoundingly gracefull movements, a long black bow with gold filigree layed into the wood was layed across her shoulders paired with a quiver of arrows with white goose feathers at the ends, the tip of the arrow was a unique design…That of the elves..For you see, Eruanna was born in the city of Lorntîa, and elvish city in the heart of Nalorkta Forest. Near the Falls of Elendial. Her mother you see was an elf, a raid of soilders had gotten to her before any one could save her…Leaving her alone, the starting of a child in her womb. ((I think you know what I mean by that with the soilders and stuff…I didn’t want to say it though)) Eruanna’s mother died at her birth and the baby half elf was left to be raised in the House of Torino, Leader of the Elves of Lorntia. He raised her as if she was his own, and she grew into a flowering young blossom. She knew both elvish and the tounge of humans. And was trained with both sword and bow, as well as magic. She was taught as if she was the very Daugther of Torino, and it was at the young age of 48 that she set forward to unlock more of her past

So there the fair half elf stood, suddenly stopped as a sound reached her keen ears, a delicate hand was emmediatly on the hilt of her sword as her forest green orbs searched the trees. Her head snapped toward another sound, There were actually two sources, there seemed to be horses as well. Bolting forward, her feet landing silently on the leaves she rushed forward toward the nearest sound…She suddenly stopped, smiling and shaking her head at her foolishness as she saw a squirell rush up a tree.Sighing she leaned against the willow and raised her eyes to the strom strewn sky. -DONE- ((I would have more, yet..Alas, I can't reallly type more unless she can communicate XD))

ooc| I have two paragrpahs for a plot...And My rules. Then I have a decent intro...

I'd like semi-LIterate and Up to join. I really don't think it's too much. What is too much?

Sorry, I don't mean to sound snappy, I just don't understand *shakes fist at the literateness that has overtaken Shadow's mind*

ooc| Could you perhaps take what I have and tell me what you might put, I'm not sure how to cut it off without leaving out essentials

((I don't think it's too much at all. It's nice to see such literacy, it really is. Though, Shadow-my-pet, I do have a bit of advice for you on your writing style, if you're willing to take it, that I can PM to you. Also, do you care if one of the races on your realm is a soul splicer? I can get you that description in a PM, too, I kind of made it up and find it to be interesting to play.))

((Straight up you can't wink wink wink ))
Note to those who know nothing about soul splicing; look in Scarlet Moon. On the first post is a description of what they are and what they can do. It will make your life simpler, I promise.

Name: Raven
Age: 19
Race: Half human, half soul splicer (Soul splicers are remarkably similar to elves except that they are not exceptionally tall nor do they have the trademark elven ears.)
Gender: Female
Alignment: Rebel
Appearance:User Image
Weapon: Two chakras about the size of dinner plates rest in holsters at her hips. Both chakras are stainless steel, edged with silver as sharp as anything with inlays of blue and violet metal. Both also have S-shaped handles crossing through the middle of them.
Personality: Raven is a woman of many sides. She may seem like she's a law abiding individual, but in reality is her own boss. She disregards all rules except her own, which have been known to change without notice. While she is one of the rebels of the Dark One, she is under no one's control. Unlike many, she revels in the darkness the Dark One brought, having a strange liking for it. However, the Dark One has put a bad reputation to her beloved darkness and must be stopped. He had turned her haven into a fortress of evil and cruelty, while in reality it was gentle and comforting, shielding her from the high expectations of those who live in the light. When one first meets her, she's friendly enough but could probably throw them a lot farther than she could trust them. She refrains from getting attached to anyone, seeing as her soul splicing is steadily knocking years off of her life.
Biography: Raven has led an interesting life, to say the least. Her mother died in childbirth, a soul splicer. Her father was a woodsman, also living by his own rules. He brought his daughter up the same way and told her about her splicing abilities when she was fourteen along with the warning not to do it for the first time until it was absolutely necessary. Well, she found that she didn't want to wait that long and did it that very night. Ever since then, she had been haunted by addiction of the power, the addiction her father tried to save her from for as long as possible. Nonetheless, he taught her how to fight and live alone in the forest, and she worked towards her goal of mastering her own soul.
One day, her father was killed in the forest by minions of the Dark One; the minions were destroyed by Raven's angry soul. Only then did she decide that she had had enough of what the Dark One had done and decided to get back the dark's reputation and avenge her father. She is now nineteen years old and has spliced seventeen times.
Other: Raven likes to sing and dance when she's alone and has taken up drawing and writing in her spare time.

((Intro post coming up, promise))

"Daddy?"
"Run, Raven!"
"Daddy! Where are you?"
"Raven, just go, don't worry about me!" The fifteen year old clambered up a high tree and wedged her body into a niche, frightened about the battle below. She heard her father scream and fought the urge to scream herself, and when she looked through the branches, saw him lying there, still as bone. Anger rose within her, sweeping her away in its crimson tides. The girl's eyes closed and a silvery being split from her body. She made her soul hands substantial and grabbed her chakras.
"I'll teach you!" she screamed in anger, and jumped down upon the four people who had murdered her father, the silver on the edges of her chakras glinting in the sun.
Fifteen minutes later found the girl lying a pool of blood, with bloody chakras on the ground besides her and her father's head in her hands.
"Oh, daddy..."

"No!" Raven sat bolt upright in her tree, her eyes wild. She realized what had happened and flopped backwards again.
Just a dream, she thought with a sigh. She swept out of her tree as the sun sent its beams slicing through the upper branches to rest upon the ground. With this, the woman set off.
Raven kept up a good pace all day, in a hurry to get to nowhere. Her main goal was to find a Rebel base in the city she was slowly wandering towards, but she had all her life to actually get there. She wasn't keen on letting someone else tell her what to do...which might have been the reason she had been transferred in the first place.
Whatever, she thought disdainfully.
Suddenly, a sound echoed through the forest, the sound of quick footsteps. Raven immediately whipped out her chakras and settled into a fighter's crouch all in one fluid movement, her eyes darting all around. When she wasn't ambushed, she crept forward, melting into the shadows she could find. It was probably nothing to worry about, but better safe than sorry, correct?
By now, clouds had blanketed the sky, foretelling rain. That made Raven happy; she loved the rain.
Now, what is this? she thought as she spied a figure that looked remarkably like an elf leaning against a willow like she had nothing better to do in the world. Raven holstered her chakras and stood tall, yet still wary. She wondered at the woman's presence, but knew that it was really none of her business. She had a city to find.

Eura had heard the woman start to move long before she showed her face and turned around to see her. Her delicate hands danced to the scimitars at her waist, yet...seeing no present harm, she gently pulled away and placed a smile upon her lips and nodded and started up first in elvish

"Suilaid, Elen síla lumenn' omentielvo" she replied with a bow of her head, Then said one simple word, Not bothering to translate her whole greeting.

"Greetings" she said wtih a grin. She remained tense though. It would take a fool to not sense prowress that seemed to radiate in her air.

"So bold, Follow strangers in such dark times" she said solemnly then smiled warmly. with a grin, her green eyes a sparkle and the black stone hanging about her neck growing slightly warm on her neck in the prescnence of the rebel.

OOC| SOrry for the erm, POopy post...I am so busy and am Just now managing to sneak in a post. Her necklace is like a Mini Palantiar, In element, property, and appearance...It's like a palanttiar yet it is the size of a marble

Gaian Name: Agethia
Name: Traci
Age: 104 *looks 22 in human standards*
Race: Elf
Appearance: Traci
Personality: She's against the Dark One, but she doesn't really do anything about it except fight for herself.
She usually doesn't fight for others because she is never with anyone long enough to fight for them. She either keeps moving or they die or leave some way or another.
She usually disguises how she is feeling with being funny and making jokes. So when something serious comes up, she might surprise you with what she can do and how she can act.

((Anything else about her past etc. can be found out in the story XD))
PostPosted: Sun Sep 24, 2006 6:57 pm

Traci walked out of the empty house, the wind slightly blowing through her hair, the darkness engulfing her as she entered the only road leading through the small town. Ymotia was silent, desolate...it was a new ghost town added to the dark world. Another small town, unable to defend itself against the minions of the Dark One, had fallen in a most horrific manner.
Dead bodies of women, children and men with their last shocked, fearful, or hateful expressions painted on their faces, lay all around, some in clusters, others all alone. Blood soaked the ground, covering the town in crimson red, staining it forever.
"Forever night, never day..." Traci said softly as she traveled down the road, looking for any survivors. There were none, and usually were never. Dark creatures rarely ever left any living. Traci whispered a short prayer for the dead, and continued down the street, keeping her hand on the hilt of her longsword. Her bow was already strung and hung over her shoulder. Her dark green cloak brushed against the dead bodies she stepped over, getting a bit of blood on it, which she didn't pay attention to. She had done this many times...going through fields of the dead.

Upon closer inspection, Raven's trained eye quickly picked out that this woman was not fully elven, but merely half. Nevertheless, the woman was gorgeous. The soul splicer's quick eyes took in all that could be dangerous upon her; her stance, her build, her balance, and of course the sharp scimitars at her waist. After the split second appraisal, a small grin graced Raven's face.
"What can I say? If one can take care of herself, does she not have every right to be bold?" the splicer countered with a warm smile and a twinkle in her velvety violet eyes. Raven leaned against the nearest tree and shrugged.
"However, I can't say I was following you. I merely heard a noise in the brush that I'm assuming was you, and I wanted to be sure it wasn't something looking to cause me trouble. You wouldn't happen to know the quickest road to Tyrlan, the City of Light? Family visit, you see, but I haven't been there for beyond quite some time." The lies rolled smoothly off of Raven's tongue, though there was little doubt in her mind that the half elven woman had already identified her as one of the Rebels. Nobody really walked tall in this day and age unless they had something to prove. But, the woman could prove nothing, therefore the splicer was safe for the time being. She crossed her arms and rested one foot gently against the trunk, for all the world looking like she had absolutely nothing to fear on Articula, even though everyone had plenty to fear.

((Don't worry, it happens smile ))
