Guild Announcements New

Your attention please! This is an announcement from Mr Spooty. Although it may seem like an ursurping of power, permissions must be granted first. But this place is a dusty old mess. And what's with all the purple female clothing and the music? Not to worry, cheese is good for complementing everything! Cleaning time!

I'm keeping Spooty's announcement up above because it's important and I've so rusty with this place I'm worried I'll muck something up and not be able to fix it, haha.
I want to start off by apologizing. I was a horrible leader from about 04/05 onward. I had to cram about a years worth of school into two months in order to graduate high school and life's been moving along since. I had time to work on this place, and I chose not to. In fact, I ignored many attempts from crew-workers to try and get anything out of me to try and fix what I started. I'm terribly sorry.
I think I've lost access to The Cheese Guild's account. I've forgotten the password and I made it a long time ago so I don't know what email I used. However, if I do gain access to it, I am more than happy to hand it over to someone who still cares. This is more than likely to be Spooty since he has been taking care of it in my place. He's been more help to this place than I ever was. smile
I doubt I'll ever really come back. I am not who I use to be and making new friends terrifies me now. Even trying to talk to old friends from here is awkward and depressing at times. I've matured into a stranger of myself. BUT do know that I still love all of you, regardless of it all. I hope that every single one of you are happy and living your lives full of hope and dreams.

Due to the outstanding amount of unexcused and uncommitted members. There will be a major cleaning of the guild membership starting tommorrow, Saturday, November 18,2006. As within the last month there have twelve new additions to the membership and no one has yet to post.
November 11th, 2006
In order to encourage new membership, the fee for entry into the guild will be lowered from 100 gold to 25 gold.
Currently, the guild has no such need for extra gold at the time.

Due to the absence of Silent Flame, Mr Spooty has elected to be the interim leader of the guild due to his position in the guild, so that she may devote time to duties elsewhere.

Silent Flame will be unaccessable from March 17th - April 3rd. She will be taking the friday and saturday to prepare for her two week trip to Arizona. She can be contacted for emergency cases before the 19th, but will ignore any non-emergency topics to do with the guild if she is too busy to handle them. Please take the time now to contact her about guild related issues that may not be able to wait a few weeks. Also, she will try and check in once in a while and will miss you.
Another matter. Silent was also hired to be a GM on the game server she currently plays. This has caused an issue with time. New leadership may be considered if she is no longer able to handle guild issues at all. She regrets how things have gone, and that her interest in Gaia has faded in order to have caused this mess. Leadership will be decided by the people for candidates who have been selected from submitted resumes. This is if new leadership seems to be required.
The decision has been made on the subject of whether or not banners will be required to be in a member's signature. It will NOT be required to have a banner for the guild inside a member's signature. Vote was decided at 50% against. The thread will remain for banner discussion.

Guild decisions will from now on be made by the entire guild. This will be done with announcement threads and polls that will be up for a short time. When you see such a thread, please vote. If Silent comes back and finds that no one has voted she will assume you do not care about your guild and will proceed to slowly shut it down. Thank you.

Slowly but surely the to-do list is being addressed. All links and posts in this topic have been fixed up. There are some new links, and URLs have been updated as needed for the other links. Also, thanks to some changes in gaia's posting system, some HTML needed to be updated as well.

2 Subforums have been purchased. The Crew Only forum is self explanatory, while the Corridors of the Guild will be used for member rooms, and other misc. topic storage. Work will begin when bugs with the new system are resolved.
As an addon note, Chibi Scout has been upgraded to Crew to handle join requests for the guild.

So a few things were done the past few months such as what was on the list and reformating the Memberlist Topic so that the alignments were working. The banned list was removed from the front page and is hidden in the Member Title list. Now Silent needs your help. Please make suggestions in the Guild Suggestion Topic. Questions that Silent has are posted in there as well. To do list is updated.

Leader Break: OVER.
There will be some major changes to the guild. But they shouldn't affect anyone who is currently a member. The following are to occure within the next few weeks:
The front page will be undergoing intensive construction, along with the memberlist, and possibly a few other things.
Crew statuses need to be looked over and revalued. Along with this new jobs will be posted. We are aware that the guild is not very active so evaluations will be done with this in mind.
Rules will be undergoing some changes. (Nothing to worry about.)
There are a few others that I can't remember at this current time.

Silent Shadow Flame is taking a break from her guild duties until after graduation as she will be working hard, heavily stressed out, and easily upset. Therefore she is not equipt to handle guild duties at this present time. She trusts her crew and knows that work is very little in the guild presently as it is, so has no worries. All notifications and bannings will be delayed until after the short break. Thank you for understanding.

A new sticky has been set up for the fact that the home page seemed a bit too large. This sticky is for new members to request titles or for any member to notify of a leave of absense. Members should find this easier then the old system and can then see better when the memberlist is updated.

Due to the lack of work effort admitted, Silent Shadow Flame will now be taking care of the notifications under The Cheese Guild's name. Many notifications will be sent out tonight.
Guild's Home page has been updated and jobs been rearranged. I appologize greatly for missing Dean on the crew list and we all hope he returns more often soon.
Many new members have been accepted. Treat them with respect and be nice. Only notify Silent if there is a new member who has broken the rules and then they will be talked to in hopes that we all understand the situation.

The bug that prevented the request list from working properly, has been fixed, as has the bug that temporarily disabled PMs. Also, as a side note, the marketplace is working just fine!

It has been deemed an issue that requests cannot be fullfilled into having a member join the guild. A bug in the Gaia Guild System is preventing this from happening most of the time. Those who have requested to join will have to sit tight until the bug is fixed.

The request to join fee will be going down to a very insiginicant amount today to adapt to the new private feature of the guid. This is a testing process and soon we will be able to work out a correct way to allow those who wish to join do so and encourage them to stay.
EDIT: That did not seem to work and there seem to be some issues with accepting requests. The guild has returned to a public status until an answer can be found.

Please be careful of what you place into your sig. Tonight I could not even enter the lobby because a signature had a picture that for some reason would not load and froze my browser. The problem has been dealt with but we hope that this does not happen again. It is alright if it does happen, and we do not blame those who are responsible, but please be careful.
I am uncertain of what exactly was messing up about this picture but if my machine was affected others may have too. If your signature is found to cause problems you will be notified to remove the problem before posting while all posts will have your signature removed. If you resist you will be banned and with the new private setting you will not be able to post if it happens. Please be careful.

Rules1. No spam (This includes flamming and trolling).
2. Romance is allowed but if there is cybering, take it to PMs and get in trouble there.
3. No God modding.
4. No perfect characters. (Your character must have at least two weaknesses. Once your weaknesses have been found out you may change them as long as the way you do it makes sense.)
5. If you are speaking out of character, put some sort of indication such as the following examples:

6. It is always nice to provide a link to a new place your character is traveling to if others wish to follow.
7. When entering a thread state the action that indicates so unless it is stated otherwise.
8. You cannot be in two "In Character" places at once unless you are talking ((OOC: )) for the one your character currently has no body in.
