The One-Year Anniversary of the Barely-Knowns September 24th, 2005 - September 24th, 2006Where to begin, where to begin...well, it started last year on this very day that Meacorme, Saurciriel, and I settled down to discuss creating our own guild after forums didn't seem fun anymore and I had been kicked out of a prominent guild due to some drama.
We all decided I would be captain (reparations, I call it), and Saurciriel vice captain. We figured we'd make another IRL friend, Moose Lord, be a mod alongside Mea.
But the question was...what would our guild be about? And we decided, as we all were not well-known at all, that we would make it a haven for everyone who didn't have a spotlight and more.
And here we are, a year later, with more than 25 pages of threads since our very first one, Nu Lucrezia's "First thread!" where I quickly named him and Kelti mods as they were both online friends of mine and trustworthy. I mean, look at us! Such awesome members and posts! Lots of comments added to it! And our unique love thread, done by the lovely Kyuu, and our Barely-Knowns comic, originated by Lord Narcissus. It's amazing how this guild has developed. The three of us expected it to die in two months at the most.
But let that pass. I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who is a supportive member of this guild. I always go here to feel safe from the hectic world outside, and I actually get to have "control" over something! ...Did I say control? I meant "lead." That's right. Heh heh... twisted But anyway, this guild is SO AWESOME to me and Mea and everyone else I hope, and let's remember this year and have an even better next year in the Barely-Knowns Guild! I'll be honest, I came to this place as an alternative to the AGE, but never expected it to get off the ground.
and then

I become much less active in teh AGE and now this place is my guildy home.

Hay hay I'm not exactly a regular here.

As they say,
a guild is only as good as its members.
I've always like coming here
because you guys are so nice
and cool and stuff.
I mean, I like assholes,
they're fun for a while.
But every now and then
you need some nice people
to go hide behind
and so on.
And that is my two cents about BK.

Hurray, huzzah, woo hoo! This is a good start to my day.
Eh, you should all know my feelings about the BK by now but I'll say 'em anyway.
I know people tell me not to place too much value on online things, but honestly, in this case, I can't help it. Everyone here is supportive and kind and funny. I always have fun posting here or talking to people here.
I've met such good friends that I wish lived where I actually am!
Here's to a wonderful first year.
Oh, and people. Get a ticket to California somehow. Seriously.

When I got the invite, I accepted and went looking through the members, and when I saw how many people never posted, I sort of thought this place might not be that cool.
I didn't post for a while, or I didn't very often.
But I soon found out how totally awesome this place is.
