He is by far in my opinion the best country star I have ever heard. His songs are miracles to my ears. I have grown up on him since I was 5. My favorite song has to be " If Tomorrow Never Comes." Either that or " The Dance". So, what are your opinions on him? I'd love to hear them.

He's not favourite artist, but I do enjoy his music quite a bit. As a child my favourite song was The Thunder Rolls. I'm not sure what it is any more. Perhaps If Tomorrow Never Comes.

"If Tomorrow Never comes" and "Thinder Rolls" are two different songs by him. I agree though, "Thunder Rolls" is a very good song. Did you hear the long version or the cut one? The long one, in the end the wife kills the husband. In the short one she doesn't.

I've heard both versions. I perfer the long one because it doesn't leave the ending floating, so to speak.

Yea, very true indeed. So, do you like the other songs he has written that aren't that well known? "Long Neck Bottle" for example? Man, I can't believe I forgot this one: "Friends in Low Places". That is as well a very good song.

CMT used to refuse to show the video for "The Thunder Rolls" because it was considered too violent at the time.

"Friends in Low Places" is a classic song to me. One of my favorites. smile

I like most Garth songs I've heard. I hope he comes back. I know he's taking a break. I doubt he's 'retired' for good.

I love Friends in Low Places. My mom owns a few of Garth's CDs and there are quite a few of the lesser-known songs I like. Of course, the titles, etc. are escaping me right now. Beaches of Cheyenne is another I've always liked a lot.

I have his collectors edition box set. smile It has 6 CDs in it. It is awsome. I got 2. One I didn't open, and the other I did. I was just listening to my local country station and I heard a song that we forgot to mention that is really big. "Unanswered Prayers". That is a very beutiful song that constantly proves itself true.

Yeah, I got that, too. GArth Brooks will always be special to me, because my older brother used to sing The River to me all the time, He was in the Navy when the 9/11 attacks occurred and I was scared to death. I couldn't call because, well, it is a complicated situation. But it was a very long time before I heard from him and I found out later that he had a seizure and got medically discharged. It was a very scary time and pretty much my only comfort was hearing a Garth Brooks song. It was actually bittersweet because I didn't know if I would ever hear Johnny sing to me again. Fortunately, that Christmas I got to see him.

Thats a sad story. I'm really sorry for what happened to him. But I'm happy that he is ok. The River is a very beutiful song and I think my radio station doesn't play it enough. I call the station and get them to play it about once every 2 days. I wish they would play it more often on their own though.

I absolutely love "Friends in Low Places", "Ain't Going Down", "Standing Outside the Fire", and "Calling Baton Rouge".

"Papa Loved Mama" is a really good song. They just begun playing it over the radio. They play it about twice a day. I love listeneing to the radio in the car and a Garth Song comes on. I turn up the radio real loud. He makes songs you can drive to, and songs you can listen to over and over again and never get old. As well as songs that touch something inside of you that make you feel good about yourself when in a depressed mood.

"Papa Loved Mama", "Thunder Rolls", "Rodeo", and "Friends in Low Places". are all good songs. I also think that he is # 1. Out of all his songs I like "Papa Loved Mama" the most. Matt are you sure they are playing it on the radio? I still haven't heard it.
