"Master Windu, I must talk to you" Anakin says walking up to the Jedi Master.
"Skywalker, we just received word that Obi-Wan has destroyed General Grievous" Mace Says. "We're on our way to make sure the chancellor returns emergency power back to the senate."
"He won't give up his power. I've just learned a terrible truth." Anakin explains. "I think Chancellor Palpatine is a Sith Lord."
"A Sith Lord?" Mace Windu questions.
"Yes. The one we've been looking for." Anakin tells him.
"How do you know this?" Mace asks.
"He knows the ways of the force" Anakin tells him. "He's been trained to use the dark side."
"Are you sure?"
"Absolutely"
"Then our worst fears have been realized." Mace said "We must move quickly if the Jedi order is to survive"
"Master, the chancellor is very powerful." Anakin says "You'll need my help is you're going to arrest him"
"For your own good you should stay out of this but you are right..." Mace said. He then slightly sighed "Come..."
As they walked into Palpatines room he acted confused but that didn't last long. Soon the fighting started and to everyone shock Anakin was the one to take Sidious down saving the life of Mace Windu. "I-- I am Sorry..." Anakin said.
Mace puts his hand on Anakin's shoulder "There is no need to worry Anakin.. He would have killed us both and then taken over the gallexy..."
"you are right Master Windu but... it feels like i have done something wrong."
"Only thing you did wrong Anakin is to worry about this anymore... now come..."

But Palpatine had been a friend and a Mentor since he was accepted as Obi-Wan's Padawan. Forgetting it was not going to be easy. But Palpatine was a Sith Lord. The Sith Lord. Darth Sidious. His friend had really been using him.
"Where are we going Master?" Anakin Skywalker asked, looking towards the Jedi Councilmember he had just saved. There was something pressing on his mind besides the death of Palpatine. He had a wife. He would be able to keep it secret forever. Padme would give birth in a week or so. The questions that had been on everyones minds would finally come out. 'Who was the Father?'

Mace looked at Anakin "We have a council meeting to go over what the Jedi's next move should be seeing how the war should be almost over now that you have won it.." It was odd for a Jedi to give someone honor like that but it was true. Anakin had almost single-handedly won the war. Mace was happy he had let Anakin come with him. He then looked over at Anakin "What is the matter Anakin?"

Anakin bowed at Mace, ignoring his question. What was he supposed to say? "I suppose We shall be going our seperate ways then. Obviously I am no longer needed on the Council, the man I was representing being dead." He glanced over at Mace. Maybe it was for the best. Maybe it was for the best that he wasn't part of the Council, he was only a Jedi Knight afterall. Save him the continual embarrassment.

"Anakin, there is no doubt there is a lot you have to learn but being on the council should help that..." Mace said.

"What are you saying Master Windu?" His voice was calm and steady. Did this mean that they still wanted him on the Council? A Jedi Knight on the Council...a permanent member...

"Master Windu?" Anakin couldn't believe this. Mace Windu was impressed? It had taken over ten years, but the Jedi Master finally had some respect for him. "It would be an honour Master." He could accept the fact he was a Jedi Knight. He was on the Council now. But he was on because they wanted him there, not because Palpatine wanted him there.
It was an entirely different situation now.

Anakin suddenly realized what this meant. "But...but master, that means taking on an apprentice, taking my own Jedi Padawan..." He wasn't too sure he was ready for that yet.

"Are you not ready for one Anakin?" Mace asked. He was trying to make Anakin understand everything and so far this was working.

"It's not that I'm...It's just..." He looked away from the Jedi Master. He had a wife. He was about to become a Father. Taking on an Apprentice now would pull him away from his family further. He knew he was ready, all he had to do was spend some time with the Younglings to find the right one. But he wasn't ready to put Padme in this position, alone to take care of a child and be on the senate.

"Master Windu, I assure you it is nothing." He knew Mace wouldn't understand. He was on the Council. If they found out the truth his life would be ruined. He would be forced to leave the Jedi. No, he would have to keep up this lie.

"If you say so Anakin" Mace said. Their ship stopped and they got off and headed for the council room. "But just do not let it get to you too much. You are a Jedi Anakin. Do not let anything fill your heart with darkness"
