What do you guys think about putting together a monthly guild news letter? Some ideas for content could be thing like:
-guild news and updates
-poem/short story of the month
-writing tips
-featured author of the month
etc.
Feedback?

Great idea but we should probally change it to weekly because I don't know 'bout the rest of the guild but I would die in excitement untill it came.

Weekyl, I'm not so sure. Maby biweekly? like, once every other week to make it easier on you? I still think, in concept, this is a great idea!

OK! Thanks for the opinions smile Anybody who wants to contribute definately can, but we should have someone in charge. (I'll do it, if nobody wants to...).
As for time, bi-weekly sounds fine, but I think some things would be monthly (such as short story of the month; it would be hard to get stories for every two weeks..).

Yeah, story of the month and other longer more space consuming features should probably be less frequent. Again, to save your slaving minds from insanity. Believe me, newsletter sometimes get to you...

Alright, sounds good. I think we should start gathering content for the first issue (probably to be released at the beginning of October, I think).

Definately get a writing tips section. Just a weekly little blerb fromt he masters on how to do some aspect of our work better! Either that or a writing suggestion or exercise. Basically, something interactive to an extent.

 I would really enjoy this, as long as the writing tips are really good. That part of it sounded awesome to me! Then again, I could probably use any tip I could get my hands on!
And how about adding one character to each newsletter? Like, first put a decription of the awesome selected character. Under that could be the maker's thoughts and what inspired him/her to create this awesome character? xD
You might also mix in a little suggested reads section? For books. =D

Those all sound great smile Would you guys like to work on/submit anything to it? I certainly have no good tips to offer--I'm no professional at all (and one of the youngest! lol ).
I'll start putting a rough draft of the guild info/news together, and find some other interesting stuff. But please keep suggesting things, and thank-you!

Everything has been suggested already. XD I should have come to look earlier. Anyway, for the whole short story thing, the first issue of each month could have the story in it, and then for the rest of the issues (probably just one more) for that month could have a link to it or something? I dunno, I didn't read all the posts that well so it may have been suggested already.

Yeah, that sounds good 3nodding Didn't think of that...
So far, the news and updates is coming along nicely. As for the release date, I think we'll have to move the date a litte (it's a little late now, ne? razz ). Send in anything you want posted! I'll post the format we'll probably use for the first one here soon.

i'll do the newsletter sachi! or at least part of it. there should be more than 1 person working on it at a time. i was doing the neopet guild's newsletter, and it was hard with jsut me, and nobody submitted anything after the first issue.... O__o we could have about 3 people on the newsletter commitee?
