As Noco mentioned, there are rumors about a BR5 in the makings. But let me clarify one thing first. Bloody Roar 4 sucked! Yes, you could see Nagi's boobs, and Reiji was pretty cool and some of the 3rd costumes were decent (like Uriko's and Alice's) but the game as a whole blew and was unworthy of the title Bloody Roar.

Now to rectify this mistake and make sure it never happens again, I turn to you BRG to come up with some awsome ideas as to what you would include or take out for Bloody Roar 5.

I'll start-

-First off, I'd like more costumes for the characters. Similar to BR2 but rather than simply color variation, I'm talking whole new wardrobe.
-While we're on the note of clothing, I move to make sure clothing does not regenerate when you revert to human form. This simply makes no sense and adds a cheese factor to the game. Granted this could be problematic with the female characters... but look at Dead or Alive. Girls in bikinis... fighting. Sex sells, get over it.
-I'd also take out the ring outs. Environment changes were cool. Hitting people against a truck was awsome. Breaking through fences to lead to a more open area, better. But ring outs in stage 72 of survival mode no longer cut it. Take it out

So those are a couple ideas. Doesn't have to be long, but I do expect at least two sentences for every idea. (Because its cool or its lame doesn't cut it)

Annnnnd.... you're off!

Honestly? I want to see Uriko in an outfit reminiscent of the 1920s flappers. It would be entirely adorable, and totally fitting who she is. Like Roi said, too, I want some character development and storyline! I think a combo of games two and four would be best.



Now, this could be my Sexism and the Humanities class talking, but I'm pretty sure this is the most mysogynistic thing you've said in the history of my knowing you.

I'm taking issue with your argument about how I should just "get over" the fact that people exploit women to sell more video games.

Hmm...More special features, like screenshots and concept art. Oh, and the thing about the outfits being crazy and stuff, like Noco said, that would be sweet. I think Gado should have a little hat, like a French beret, because he's French. Oh, yeah, and more special features, like screenshots and concept art. That's all I really care about in the game so far.

I'm simplistic, so sue me.

The clothes changing after beastorizing thing would be good, but not completely ripped... for example, Alice has no pants/skirt whilst in rabbit form. sweatdrop

Er... a character creation mode? It'd be fairly complicated, but if they could at least make it to where you could customize your character's looks, I'd be rather pleased.

Um! Make it so that you can completely turn the direction of a special attack! I mean, say you're Alice fighting Yugo and he uses his special attack(the one where he kicks you into the air and then bodyslams you down, I forget the name). In the middle of that, by pressing the right buttons, you should be able to perform Alice's special attack before he finishes.

I'll think of something else later, I assure you.

This video game is about people that turn into animals, and you're trying to add things for the sake of realism? What, no angry rants about how the gushing blood was later replaced by sparks?



I'm not talking about comparing women's voting to exposure. I'm taking about you telling me that us (as in the guild) voicing our opinions on an issue won't get anything done. I used suffrage as an example of where this reasoning was used and ultimately failed, as that was one of the more notable times in history where women were told to sit down and shut up.

By the way, I'm pretty sure you know why those girls are there, and you summed it up right before you told me to get over it. Sex sells. You know damn well that putting a bunch of half-naked women on top of a car at car shows is going to draw in more of the target male audience, thus drawing a bigger crowd that'll hopefully buy more of whatever's being sold.

Now, I wasn't around at the time of the Rennaisance, but I'm pretty sure that the classical masters weren't trying to mass-market something to hordes of drooling, pubescent boys.

The fact that you state the classical depiction of Aphrodite as "degrading to women" and the bouncing funbags found in every fighting game with halfway-decent resolution as "showing off the female body" is laughable. There's a difference between showcasing the female figure and flat-out exploiting it to draw potential buyers.

I'm not a neo puritan, as you seem to be trying to allude to. I'm a young woman who's sick and tired of seeing women treated like tools to be used to a more profitable end.

First off, you think that the Aphrodite was created during the Renaissance period. That's a big "no" in my Art History journal. All famous" Aphrodites' were created during the Classical Greek period or the revival of the Classical period later on by Botticelli, creating "The Birth of Venus" most people think of when they think of the godess of love.

Video games are not an expression of art. Yes, I am aware I might be yelled at by many fans, but it is considered "modern" art, very loosely, and that is most often looked down in the art community. It does not have a purpose, besides blowing up zombies or creating a large fan base, and it does not actually have a piece of the artist's soul in it. Also, it can be mass reproduced.

Video games degrade women. Classical art does not.

You never see any picture of the godess without her looking beautiful, so much that she could be seen without clothing and people would not be automatically be drawn to her breasts, which many video games profit from.

Do you ever notice that the breasts the game characters have a somewhat dis-proportionate to the characters size? That is not the way with Classical art, where the breasts are seen to actual be smaler than normal, because Classical art was all about humility because it was created by the Greeks, who saw over-large body parts in art as disgusting and vile. Thus it lives on today in most classical art.

And please, do not degrade Aphrodite by comparing her with, say, the Dead or Alive characters or the skimpy-bikini girls at car shows.
