Slowly, I'd think. Shikamaru's laziness is pretty deep set and Temari would only be pushy enough to get what she wants outta him, nothing more.

It's already gone pretty slow. First, they're rivals, then they're kinda like: Ehh...you saved me. But I don't like you TOO much...bossy.
And then all: Teehee, let's walk together. ;D
So it took 'em a few years to get things together. sweatdrop

Actually. hard to say. I mean *SPOLIERS* after Asuma's death he might look for comfort whether he relizes it or not. Maybe Temari will be there, maybe she won't.
Othrewise I think it will go pretty slow. I'm sure there will be plently of awkward moments to go around...

I don't know, I personally think it's gonna take a LOOOOOOOOOONG time before we see any actual progress between those two. xd see them as being really cloe friends/partners first, and then one day BOOM!!! A full fledged relationmship blaugh 3nodding

I think they would just go with the flow of things--not too slow, not too fast. Shikamaru is the slow type, sure, but Temari is just his type, so he might wanna speed things up a bit.
In one of the current fanfics I'm writing, Claddagh in Rose-Gold, Shikamaru was twenty before he proposed to her, and then they secretly married just before his twenty-first birthday . . . that September. That's only because he decided that he wanted to see where his life was going before he made that big of a decision, but that is still taking it a bit too fast.

Pretty slow, actually. It already took them more than 2 years just to become good (kind of denying, though) friends. ><
