Finally after a couple of attempts, Mata recieved a replying call. His heart jumped into his throat and he looked around the maze-like white halls in frightened wonder for the source of the voice to no avail. The voice was coming from no where! Could this be the work of the ghosts that Claus had told him about? The souls without a body who haunt the halls? After reading some books in the library, Mata had discovered their nature. Some ghosts were sad, some were playful, and others were angry horrible ghosts. The mean ghosts would tease and harm their victims and show them terrible things. Of course, the nature that stuck in his mind most was the one that frightened him and that's what the kirin thought when he heard that questioning voice. The white walls were beginning to make his mind spin and the boy felt the ceiling getting higher and the walls growing opressive in his fear.
"Don't hurt me!" Mata cried to the 'ghost voice', throwing his arms around his horned head in absolute terror to protect himself from his imagination. Whimpering and wanting nothing but to escape and find Claus, Mata bolted down one direction of the corridor, his white tufted tail following behind his steps as he twisted around a corner. "Augh! The ghosts are going to get me!"
Little did the albino kirin know that he was about to run headlong into the confused magi.
