Yeah. It changed a lot from the original stories of Greek mythology but it was alright.

My favorite character was Meg since she seemed cynical and I could relate to her in some ways.

My favorite scene was when he fought the Hydra.

The Muses DID kick butt. I also like that they made Herc such a nice guy. He seems so conceited in the real myth, I like that he's kind of bumbling in the movie.

I liked Hercules, and I love the music from it. I don't really have a favorite character, but my favorite scene is the end, when Herc stays on Earth and is immortalized in the stars.

Has anyone ever watched the show?

Yeah, the show is pretty funny too, I think. ^-^ Especially that girl that is one of Hercules' friends.

The muses were my absolute favorite characters, they're just so funny! I liked the drawing style too, it was a lot different then what I'm used from Disney, but I loved it anyway. I think it's a great movie, simply 'cause it's so hilarious.

i like the way disney presented greek mythology to a younger audience. the movie would be a great way to introduce greco-roman mythology to students (beginner's guide *hehehe*). it helps them understand how the gods & goddesses are all related to each other (and how they in fact possess human qualities). the movie isn't entirely accurate, as usual.

for instance, hera was very nice to hercules in the film. but according to mythology, hera is a very jealous and vindictive woman. more so with hercules because he is the son of a mortal.

favorite scene? that's tough. i thought most of the film was pretty funny. maybe the part where hades' hair dies out blaugh

Yeah, and don't forget that in the movie Herc is actually Hera's son, too...they had to Disneyfy that up for the younger viewers.

Yeah, two-timing isn't exactly family-friendly.

Just covered this in mythology class. smile

In the Greek, it was pronounced as you said (Heracles), but the Romans changed it to Hercules in their own mythology, and pronounced it that way. So both are valid, I guess.

I wish they had got it a little bit more accurate like
1:Hera wasn't his mother. Instead of having her as Zeus' wife, they should have said sister which is still true.
2: Hera hated Hercules. It wasn't untill he was a god that she accepted him.
3:Hades didn't hate Hurcules. He was actually fond of Hurcules.
4: Zeus never really paid any attention to Hercules.
The list goes on. I think that they should have made Hera the bad...girl but I can understand why they used Hades.
