I think you need to try a new make.
Try Ernie Ball, those are always good quality.
"accidents" like that on my guitar...they piss me off and force me to take it out on everyone until I can make it guitar center.
In the meantime, I get myself frustrated by trying to play without the string....and it REALLY PISSES ME OFF!!!!
I've gotten better at not breaking strings, but every once in a while it's unavoidable while playing Lamb of god.

Here you can get a single pack for about $7, and a six pack for about....I think$30.
