Kentucky's Home of Horses Welcome to Kentucky's Home of Horses. This is a roleplay for all horse lovers to come and be with horses.

Story Line:
Kentucky has always been a home for horses and just about anybody. Acre after acre, there are pastures filled with racehorses, show horses, and just pleasure horses. It is present day, and people continue to love their horses no matter what. When terror struck and lit a well-known stable with some of the best horses on fire, Louisville, Kentucky hasn't been the same. Most of the workers lost their jobs and all the horses lost their careers. The stables were put up for sale and were bought by not one, but several people. Combining their money, they work to restart the stables.
Day One:
After a shifty night of settling all the horses in the temopary stalls, everybody is beat. The average day for them is now starting at 6:00 a.m. to feed the horses. Then resulting in mucking out all the stalls. After that is finally time for the fun. Working, letting the horses out. At 1:00 p.m., the horses are fed lunch. After lunch, they are let out in the boarder horses are let out in their selected pastures. At 7:00 p.m. the horses are fed dinner and are brought back in from the pastures.

Horse's Background: Squirt was raised, broken, and so on. He still is a bit green around the edges, (meaning his still isn't very good to ride). He has off days, and on days.

Character Description: Olly wears jean overalls over a white and very dusty shirt, these of corse are her work clothes, which also include many patched up holes. She has long curly red hair that she keeps tied into a pony tail with a hat over it, to keep it from getting in the way, she has deep green eyes, and freckles that spread from one cheek to the other across her nose.
Character's Background: O'Lina has always loved horses, but her parents couldn't afford a huge ranch house to support her love of horses. So they told her she could have a horse if she kept it in the stables and paided for it's boarding and other such expenses. She instantly followed through by getting a job at the stable where her horse was placed, and tries her hardest to take care of each horse properly. O'Lina can come off as a tom boy at times.

Horse Description: Apple has a short mane with a mixture of blonde and black hairs, the rest of her body is white, with a few large brownish spots on her, the tail was cut shorter but has the same blonde and black hairs as the mane. Apple's eyes are blue.
Horse's Background: Apple was trained for a couple of years before she came under Olly's ownership, she is a bit skiddish to any odd sounds or light patterens on the ground. But otherwise she's normally ridable, atleast for Olly, other people have a bit of a hard time getting her to go.

Character Description: Blue jeans, a red t-shirt is his typical outfit.
Character's Background: He grew up in the city, but it never seemed to suit him. Thus realizing that he should set his own life, he took off to the counrty and became an apprentice of a professional farrier.

Horse Description: Redd is a deep black, but with a red tint in the sun. He glistens in every way. Redd's a very burly horse.
Horse's Background: He was bred on a high up stud farm. Redd is a very high strung young horse. Stan has his hands full with this wry young colt.

More Information I understand we all aren't horse geniuses here, so I've included a few different websites to give you some more information on horses.

A few various tips that I include.
Gait - The pace of a horse, such as walk, trot, canter, or gallop.
Stride - The step a horse is taking.
Farrier - Someone who shoes or shods horses.
Shoes - You may know these as horse shoes.
Shods - Trimming a horse's hoof.
Discipline - The way you ride, English, Western or Bareback. (All horses are trained to English or Western, some both)
Bit - The piece that goes in a horse's mouth, as to help keep them under control.

Past Logs
Here will be a log of all the past days that have come and gone.
Current Day:
Day One:

Estelle awoke with a stiff yawn. Her heart lept at the thought of riding Squirt. Looking over at her alarm clock, she grimaced. It was quarter 'til five.
With a few mumbles she got out of bed. Stretching out, she looked out the window. The estate wasn't in the best condition that it could be, but it was fine for now. Within a few minutes, she had changed and was making her way downstairs.
Pulling out a bowl, spoon, milk, and cereal, she got herself a bowl of breakfast. She ate hungrily and then checked her watch. It was getting close to being six. Estelle placed her bowl in the sink and went outside.
The morning dew lay wetly on the grass. She grinned and thought, "This whole farm, I can't believe I'm part of it."
Despite her age, she didn't act like it.

Olly had pulled out all her tools greeting each horse on the way to get a wheel barrel, she stopped at Apple's stall and smiled at her. "Good morning girl." She then looked at her as the horse lifted her sleepy head, and Olly laughed. She then happily made her way to the end and pulled out then ran the wheel barrel to the empty stall that she'd taken one of the horses from. She started her job on cleaning it out.

Estelle walked by and nearly tripped on the wheelbarrow.
"Oops!" she blushed. "Hey Olly. I see you're out bright and early."
She stood by and decided to get a pitchfork and help clean up. Estelle grabbed a spare leaning on the aisle and set to work.

Stan grinned as he awoke by his alarm clock. Today, he, and Redd would escapade on some fun adventure. By all means, he musn't be late.
Jumping out of his bed, with his work clothes already on, he made his way down to the stable. Redd's muscular head poked over the stall door.
"Hey dude," Stan said, patting the stallion's furry neck. He noticed Redd seemed to be anticpating what was coming today, too.

Olly looked up and glanced at Estelle. "Careful, don't wanna land in a wheelbarrow of poo..." She grinned as she blushed, and then she moved the wheelbarrow. "Sorry... I didn't think anyone would be up quite as early as me. Oh, and Squirt is out in the field enjoying his morning stroll..." She smiled at her lightly and then went about her work.

"Yeah, I'm not so used to getting up early. I much prefer to well... sleep in. That's how it used to be for me. Sleep, sleep, sleep. Now I got this place," Estelle said. She continued, "although, it's nice here. Glad to hear Squirt likes it. Anything for my baby."
Estelle continued to fork old shavings into the wheelbarrow.

Olly laughed lightly and then patted the top of the wheelbarrow that was full. "I know what you mean... Summer used to mean sleep to me. But now it means doing what I love..." She paused for a second. "Well, not that I love mucking out stalls... But you get what I mean..." She grinned lightly grabbing onto the barrow handles and driving it down the isle to the dumping spot.
((I'm sorry... It's been awhile since I used colors and so I forgot the small fonts rule, I'll be fixing that!))

((It's okay. That rule was never a for sure rule, it just helps prevent page stretching. >.<))
Estelle said, "yeah." And then she was off to get Squirt out from the pasture.
He whinnied happily when he saw her and trotted over to the fence. Estelle patted his nose and attached the blue lead rope she keeps with her at all times, to his dark blue halter.
"Off we go," she said bringing him in from the pasture. Attaching him to the cross-ties in front of his stall, Estelle began to groom his muddy pelt.

On her way back Olly stopped to say hi to Apple. "Hi giiirl..." She reached out and patted her horse's head, and watched as she bobbed her head. "Glad to see you're awake." She smiled and then reached into one of her pockets and pulled out an apple treat. "Is that what you're looking for?" She held out her hand perfectly straight and waited for her to take it. "We'll go riding after I'm done... Okay girl?" Apple continued sitting in her stall munching on her treat.

Estelle finished up grooming Squirt and decided that she should help Olly with the horses. She put Squirt in his stall, gave him one final pat, and went off to find Olly.
When she found Olly, she said, "it's about time to feed the horses. Want some help?"
