I think this could be an interesting topic! I want to know how you guys write be it on paper or on computer and other such facts. I'll tell you about me first.

I write on my computer usually listening to some sort of video game or movie music, whichever goes well with the mood I'm trying to portray at that moment. I also usually work with just a hot drink by my side.^^ And sometimes when I'm absolutely blank, I look at fantastical pictures or whip out a dictionary or something to look for an interesting word... Heh. What about you guys? How do you work?

I write on computer, almost always, because I type way faster than I hand-write ninja Haha. As a tradition, I usually have a cup of coffee before I start writing, to pep me up a bit, but not always. Not if I'm too lazy to make it, that is >.>;
I listen to different music for different stories. Sometimes a greatist hits of Duran Duran, but for my current novel, the Labyrinth soundtrack 3nodding

And, I can't think of anything else . . . . sweatdrop

I type faster on computer to but I've got another reason too. Paper is so flimsy considering how clumsy I am. Imagine doing a 100 pages then knocking a cup of tea or something on them all. *Shudders*

Normally I have a good idea for an end, and try to make an outline, then mess it all up. gonk

I usually write on my computer as well. Usually while listening to music. I get a lot of inspiration from music, so I often listen to the song(s) that helped inspire my story.
I write in spurts as well. I'll get an idea and go for a sentence or paragraph then I'll dally around on the internet or play a computer game for a while until I get my next wind.

The only story I've completed was a short story that really wasn't in my normal fantasy style. All the rest have had great beginings, happy starts, intricate plots, and such, but they never ended, and I'd eventually give up
My handwriting is horrible, and I'd probably lose anything I'd write, so I'm a computer person. For a while we just had my ol' mac, which surprisingly has great creative programs, if not anything else, and I got comfortable with that set up, so even now that we've got the amazing PC I still write all my stories on the mac.
I listen to whatever band's my favorite at the time, which changes fairly often, and that seems to affect what happens in the plot line. :O

I like to type my stories. Its much more easy for me because my handwriting is horrible, and I use spell check alot sweatdrop my grammer is good but my spelling is lacking. i find also that typeing is much more easy because if you need to edit you dont have to make crazy marks all over your paper, you can just go back and fix the mistake with no confusing editing marks. I cant, however, type with music on... I often find that when there is music playing I consintrate on the music instead of my writing. I have heard that some writers write better with music, but personally mine isnt... you dont even want to read my writing when theres some sort of distraction. Believe me its not very good xp

It usually starts at like midnight when I can't sleep. I'll have this random brainwave with an idea in it. It's like an entire story right there waiting. So I grab a pen and paper and start writing. Then the next day I convert my scribblings into a legible computer font and fix those huge holes you get in the plot from writing in the middle of the night. Once I do all that, I print a copy and add it to my stash of stories in my room.

Occasionally I get ambitious and post one on the internet, but somehow I think that if I ever decide to publish them for real, having them on the internet would take away from the validity of it. So more often I just let it circulate amongst my friends if I have a need for it to be read right away.

Exactly! biggrin I have my mac right there in my room though, so I can skip the illegible scribblings part. The way I hold a pencil is horrid and gives me quick writing cramps, and it sometimes ends up that even I can't read some of what I write, so I much prefer to quickly jot my chapters down on the mac. Though this does leave a lot of holes and the like in my writings, like you said. So looking back on my writings tends to show a lot of plot holes and random grammar mistakes. :O Plots I'm really proud of I'll circulate around a few friends and have them help edit everything.
I'll admit, I dislike getting criticism, but I hate having to edit my own writing. I never catch anything anyway. So I guess I'm just stuck.

I usually get a good idea for stories and either execute them badly, forget about them, or never do them due to lack of motivation.

Needless to say, I don't get a lot written down.

I write on the computer. But when I'm away from my computer, I bring my notebook...
