NASCAR Thunder 2004 and Gran Tourismo 2,3, and 4. I basically grew up on those games.

I hear you there dude. I played Gran Turismo on PSX and I fell in love with it. I got Gran Turismo 2 a while after GT1 stopped working and I made the mistake of letting somebody borrow it. Long story short, I gave the person one of the disc's for GT2 nearly 4 years ago and I still havn't gotten it back.
PS: Which do you like better? GT3 or GT4? GT4, there's more in the game but I just don't enjoy it as much as the 3rd game.
And oh yeah, I bought NASCAR Thunder 2004 this spring and career mode's a lot harder than in 03. I'm used to going a certain speed in the turns. In rookie mode for 04 they slow down wayyy too much for my liking so it's a pain.
I say 'ok, i'll switch it to veteran mode then'. It takes me probably 2 years before I can start notching top 10 finishes.
I got Nascar 03 in early summer of 2004 and sadly I sold it next summer... I don't even know why, that's the thing. sweatdrop sad

I didn't know they made Need for Speed games with out a subtitle.
My favorite Need For Speed's Hot Pursuit 2.
PS: I wouldn't really consider NFS a sim. but more of an arcade racer. That's just my, unprofessional, semi-educated opinion.

they don't. I just don't see the point of writing subtitle's.

I would say I like GT4 because the newest Mustang is in that game. Oh yeah, and the difficulty on NASCAR 2004 is a challenge and I think that's what makes it such a great game. I think my first top 10 in career mode came at Bristol when I finished 8th. I finished 8th in points that season and won every championship since on the hardest difficulty which I think is about 13 championships. Mu ha ha ha ha.

I never was a mustang fan but the Mustang GT for 2005 is a nice car. The public loves 'em, I see them on the road all the time. My dad says it's because they look more like the old ones which were a bit more popular.
Speaking of cars last Thursday I saw a yellow Viper RT/10 parked.
Then today on the way home from vo-tech a silver Viper SRT/10 came by on the other side of the room. Nice car.
I agree, nascar 2004 is a challenging game. Nascar 03 was identical in my opinion for physics and graphics but the AI was a little slower, still an incredibly addicting game though. In NASCAR THUNDER 2003 I finished 4th in my first ever DAYTONA 500. First time I had raced there on PS2. Legend mode is fun is Nascar 2003 and 2004 because the cars go 200+ constantly at Daytona and Talladega.
The first race I ever won in NASCAR THUNDER 2004 was the Mountain Dew Southern 400 at the renowned Darlington Speedway. I won because I accidentally pitted in 3 laps early. I had to race Jimmie Johnson for the win.
God... I can't wait until I get a PS2 for x-mas, my old one broke in July.
Not being able to play Nascar is driving me nuts. I got GT3 back for a few dollars too. It's like not having sex for over 6 months lol.
IDK lol it's the only comparison I could think of. I'm not married so...
I'm going to the YMCA tomorrow and they have a PS2 there. After a bit of weight lifting i'm gonna play for 15 minutes or so.

Have every nascar game since 2003...lately been getting into the GT games, been trying them out. But always loved the nascar games...but they need to add something new, they're getting pretty repetitive

The first sim. racing game I ever played was Gran Turismo.
What I think they need to do is get rid of the Total Team Controls.
My nascar game idea:
-Nascar Thunder 2003-2004 physics engine
-Nascar 2005: Chase for the Cup sponsor system
-Nascar Thunder 2004 Grudge/ Ally system
-Nascar: Dirt to Daytona, parts can randomly fall off the car during a race
-Less forgiving damage model/ more realistic
-Rim colors
-Nascar 2005: Chase for the Cup agent system (Ace calls you about sponsors, grudges, etc.) You should be able to pick the voice and sex of your agent too.

All very good ideas, agree with all of them.

One think i don't like in the team control is the fact that you can't see the results from the cars you own unless you actually drive them, otherwise you can't view results...

Yeah I know. 2006 is so easy that you don't need the Total Team Controller.
If they would of had it in Nascar Thunder 2004, oh boy that woulda been good. Plus that's the first year Nascar was online for counsols.

I played a sim Go-karting game awhile back in a movie theater. Sega made it. That, and I like Gran Turismo 3 for Drifting, and GT4 for Racing.
As soon as I get a PS3, Vision Gran Turismo, YOU ARE MINE.

Wow, long time no post in this topic. I've started playing Gran Turismo 3 again. Don't see why I ever stopped.
