"Oh..." I gasped looking at the notice board to see who my opponent was, this was going to be interesting. Jiyuuishi was a formidable opponent and was bound to be interesting. I sat in my corner paitiently, i didn't know how long Kenji would be, but I hoped it would be soon, I didn't want to win the match my default.

Jumping up ontop of the arena I found my opponent. No other than Kajitani Mitsuoki. I didn't think it would be me battling Mitsuoki after all he was a friend.
"Ironic huh," I said loudly as I bowed readying myself for the fight, "Hows your hand to hand combat skills Mitsuoki-san?"

I returned the bow slowly, "Not as good as yours Kenji-sama." I replied softly. I drew my Zanpakuto and stood holding Neiku in the classic Kenjutsu style.
"Hold back and I will...defeat you," I said strongly and stepped forward focusing my Reiatsu into my feet and outside of the visual spectrum. I didn't know whether I could defeat Kenji or not, but it would most likely be the fact that I couldn't even if I could. I took Neiku and swung her down slashing diagonally along his left shoulder to his right hip.

"He drew his Zanpakuto already?!" I yelled inwardly, "Damn he's got some guts" With that I drew my own with seconds to spare as I converted my Reiatsu from my feet into my hands and commenced fast hand movement like that. The hoizontal block inititated with one hand I commenced movement with my second hand and pushed two fingers forward.
"Bakudo #1," I said, "SAI!" I slashed outwards and jumped up into the air over Mitsuoki and behind him commencing my own downward slash with Jiyuuishi in a sky to ground slash.

"Bakudo!" I thought silently. He was buying time...time for what? I twirled around breaking out of the half hearted Bakudo and drove Neiku straight up into the air horizontally meeting the Zanpakuto and slashing it aside.

He hadn't made an attack...what was he waiting for...this wasn't right. SOmething wasn't right. I came back again with Jiyuuishi going straight for his throat.

It wasn't that I had failed to attack, it was that I was in conversation with my Zanpakuto and we had come to an agreement between ourselves. I stood and sheathed my Neiku as Jiyuuishi hurtled towards me. I stopped and turned to Jiyuuishi. It was almost howling with ferocity. I smiled and held up my hand in slight defence.
"I give up." I said quietly.

"You can't give up...this is a tournament remember!" I said stopping just before slicing his fingers off. Why had he just given up like that, this was...pathetic. We wouldn't be able to see who was better if Mitsuoki did this again. Yet he seemed calm, he was definately making this decision on his own.
"Eh? But why?"

I looked at him and smiled again before walking off the arena, "I don't want to become a seated officer, at least...not yet." Then I started walking again, "Besides theres no fun in a pretend fight." I headed off to watch Kai in his tournament.

"Tch," I said sheething Jiyuuishi, "Idiot." I looked over at him. I had won the match...if you could call it that I wanted so badly to beat him to prove to Kai that I was better than Mitsuoki...yet he gave up.
"Hey wait for me!" I yelled and went after him.
