I don't know about when she was younger - we are both past the age of getting teased for our names....
I will have to ask her when she gets back from Hawaii....
when I was naming my children - teasing and manipulation of the name was a huge deciding factor - funny thing is that both my kids ended up with nicknames I disapprove of... go figure

my mom's friend, sally heater, named her little boy peter.
can you imagine?
and my dad had a client named henrietta pearlbutton; he imagined her sewing and swallowing the buttons.

a couple of my favorite names... nobody in my family likes them... I haven't even got to name dogs or horses them.... crying crying crying
Tashera Tavaz
I just love them and wanted to name my kids them, neither father was receptive.... and both my kids... are glad that their dads said no - lol I keep telling them that if they had grown up with the name they would like it... I tease them that I am gonna throw a fit and get my grandkids named Tashera and Tavaz..... lol maybe they better let me name pets before they have kids rofl
