LOD is great and all, but there are other great RPG's out there... at least IMO. So, I figured, what's the harm in discussing a few?
Ones I've played and enjoyed:
Several Final Fantasy's
Legend of Mana
Sword of Mana
Legend of Legaia
Star Ocean 2
Threads of Fate
Granstream Saga (Well, this one is probably an indifferent-feeling...)
...I'll think of more later.
One I DON'T enjoy:
Beyond the Beyond (I get killed ASAP and the pink guy-dragon scares me... o.O)
Have you heard of these or others? I know there's others... *hopes for a good discussion*

Shadow of Hearts
It's a pretty amazing RPG. It's the equivalent of LOD. But, because it came out at nearly the same time as FFX, it was pushed aside and never given a chance... Try it out!

Star Ocean 3 is alright in overall gameplay, but the characters leave something to be desired.
Dirge of Cerberus is DEFINATELY GREAT (I know you already put up final fantasies.) Vincent is sooooo awesome in Chaos form. I WANT THE PROTO-MATERIA!!! heart

Tales of Symphonia and Fire Emblem.
Tales of Symphonia is just awesome and FE is a tactical rpg, which is different and actually uses my brain.

shadow hearts from the new world, radiata stories, riviera the promised land, kingdom hearts, star ocean three, xenogears, xenosaga (all three), phantom brave, most of the FF games (i haven't played them all), fire emblem, dark cloud (both of them), and some others i can't remember, i am an rpg whore

final fantasy tactics is the best then dragoons then final fantasy x then final fantasy 8 then lotr the rpg one

Granstream saga...horrible. I somewhat disliked this game. Yeah, it got nice anime scenes but that's all. Legend of Legaia: Yay! Someone who knows this game. I thought I'd be the only one. I just love it! Baulder It's a pretty amazing RPG. It's the equivalent of LOD. But, because it came out at nearly the same time as FFX, it was pushed aside and never given a chance... Try it out! I want to, but unfortunately it's sold out where I live and I don't have enough money to buy it for ca. 80 €. Now I can only play 'Covenant'. crying Suikoden 1 and 2 are awesome as well. Have to play 4 & 5 too. biggrin SNES: Secret of Mana, Terranigma, Breath of Fire II <- All great games. PS: BoF III & IV, Grandia, Wild Arms

SaigonInk Legend of Legaia: Yay! Someone who knows this game. I thought I'd be the only one. I just love it! Isn't it? It's definately a challenge at times... it's kind of a relief when you die regularly when playing a game. Heck, as a semi-joke, some calculus class-alumni said to name your calculator since you'll be seeing it more than your bf/gf, so I named mine Gala! (He's always my reliable character and I hope my calculator will be the same!... even though he looked like a total tank when equipped w/ his final armor and such!) lol

Yeah, I think Part 1 was possibly the best. You could try to buy one off ebay, or try to reserve one on bluckbuster.net

Final Fantasies 1 - 9 are the best rpg games in my opinion but legend of dragoon is a close second.

Suikoden is interesting, I haven't played it but it looks like an good tactical RPG.

I agree with the Shadow hearts comment, That is one of the best games i've ever played, and the sad thing is i can find Shadow hearts, and Shadow hearts- To the new world almost anywhere where I live, but i can never Find Covenant!!!! >.< stressed
