Note: While the contest HAS started, new contestants are free to join in any time. Just pm me or sugar_crazy_Fox and ask to be added to the contestants list, then follow the rules and roleplay in blue.
In the hopes of attracting more members, I've decided it's time to do an event and get this guild moving. The event will be in the form of a quest. All the mods, including me, will be judging - and making sure that you stick to the rules, common sense, and continuity. If one of the mods decides to opt out of the judging and participate in the quest, that is their option, but I need to know ahead of time.
Regular roleplaying is free to occur during the event, but as we need to keep regular rolplaying seperate from the contest, all contestants will need to type their roleplaying in blue, or it will not be counted, and you will be marked down for lack of continuity.

Rules
1. All contestants must type their roleplaying in blue during the contest, or it will not count and you will lose points for discontinuity. This is to seperate those on quest from regular rp'ers.
2. No godmoding on any level! During this contest especially, the only thing you control is your character. This contest is in part judged on how well you use your character to react to situations, NOT how well you can twist the situation to suit you. I don't expect this to happen, but I had to put this in here because it has happenned in other roleplays I've been in...
3. During this contest, only the mods will be allowed to enact the NPC's. In case you didn't know, we are Windstar, Miakou, and sugar_crazy_Fox. Ignore NPC's attempted to be enacted by anyone else. The three of us mods will be keeping a close eye on roleplaying during the contest, so don't worry about humungous waits between your entry and the NPC response.
4. The mods will type anything to do with the contest in red. This includes hints, NPC activity, terrain activity, and description of discovered objects. Contestants may not post about finding anything UNLESS one of the mods posts with info on the object, place, or spell, since such things are integral to the quest. This necessarily slows things down a bit, but it shouldn't slow them down too much.
5. Make sure to take into account other's actions in your roleplaying! Again, this is a continuity issue. If someone else closes a door, you don't walk through it without opening it, unless your character has the ability to pass through walls. You don't find someone's tracks where they've never been. If someone picks up an object, you might find signs that something had been there, but you DON'T know what it was and you DON'T find it there yourself.
6. Once again on the continuity issue, ifyou leave one of the areas/threads, in your last post state in some way where you are headed. Suggested is doing this in the way sugar_crazy_Fox has been, type <> when you leave and <> when you arrive. This makes it easier for the mods to follow, ups your continuity score, and increases your chance of success.
7. You must understand that the winner is NOT chosen solely on who would have gotten there first. In fact, it will be easier for your character to get there first if you do some good rp'ing and follow the rules. Those who follow the rules will get more hints and NPC help than those who don't.
8. If your character didn't get a hint, they didn't get a hint. This just means you need to find some other way for your character to get the same place - or you could go about it an entirely different way! Some hints are the type that multiple people can find, but creativity is encouraged. In some cases we may ask you to explain your character's reasoning behind a decision, to make sure you stayed in character.
9. Detail, detail, detail!!! Use proper grammar and descriptive language. This event will be judged as much on your roleplaying ability as on the choices you make.
10. Hints given out will be listed in this thread, along with where they were found, by whom, and if they are re-findable.
11. Have fun!!! xd

HintsALL hints will be recorded here, red herrings and true ones alike, as long as they were originally posted by a mod. Use your head! If a hint obviously doesn't fit in with the others, it's probably a red herring. First the general hints(those that anyone can find) will be posted, when there are some, followed by those that are character-specific. These hints were given to Anaylen and are not available to other characters at this time, although it is possible to come across similar information in other ways. Hint one:
Silent in the shining sun The questing hero shall make their run Through hilly vale and mountain pass To find their goal at long last. That silent Staff of unshed tears Made to banish untold fears This same goal is thy only hope To lift thy curse of unknown scope.
Hint two: "It is up to you. Yes, I am afraid, a little...it surprised me, until I found that parchment, I thought I was ready. But now..." He said. "Suddenly there is so much to do. I have reason to believe that more of our kind survived than we had thought. And...Mirala may be rising again."
