I like this pairing. They are both some what grumps, both have ailises, and their elements go well together. (Think the firey rock exploding landform that is a VOLCANO)

it sounds okay, but there is too much of an age difference. It IS possible they could become friends.

I think age difference does matter when you think about it. Example. What would you think of someone, say an old man with graying hair, is married to someone whos youth is berally starting. I'd say pedaphile all the way.
Now think of it this way as well, while Toph has been living her younger years in those baby contraptions, as a baby I would like to emphasize, Zuko has been running with full teeth and a larger diction in his vocabulary, not that I consider him smart by seven, but I'm more than sure he would know more than guu guu gaa gaa.
Asides from that they share nothing alike, except maybe, their personalities.

And your first love isn't necessarily the one you settle down with. Age doesn't really matter in love. Except perhaps the old, graying man and the young 20 something.

Actually.. if Toph was older & more mature... I could see it happening... but not right now.

It's not an issue of age difference, it's an issue of maturity difference. Zuko is more mature than Toph at this point. I haven't seen Toph develop as a character yet to say much about her. The other young main characters have had an episode that focused on them maturing through some circumstance. Katara learned not to be so naive about people through her experience with Jet, Sokka experienced the pain of losing someone you love and it has affected him deelpy, Aang has experienced intense anger from losing Appa and has learned that it's ok to feel pain and be angry and that it's definitely not ok to shut off his emotions.

I get that point. Especially Toph being shut off by her family. I think she's still growing as a person. The scene where she fell in the ice was kinda revieling to me.

I heart Toph/Zuko! I think they would make a good couple, after the war is older. In love, I believe that you have to balance each other, as well as share some things with each other. Toph could help Zuko act more his age, and Zuko could do the same for Toph. But they both share determination, and many other traits, although their motivation may be different. I support this pairing all the way. mrgreen
