I didn't see a thread for this one, and it is my second fave pairing. They belong together. I see a connection somewhere. Afterall they have known each other for a very long time. Plus, they seem as though they really care about eachother...well to me anyways.

Sorry, but ShikaIno is the reason I hate teammate pairings.
The only way I could ever see ShikaIno happening is if Chouji died.

I like Temari and all... but I'm strongly for ShikaIno. I mean... many things back my choice, one being they are from different villages and another being Shika is a lazy bum... Tema would probably kill him since she is the total opposite. There are more... but I don't want to list them.

I'm more of a ShikamaruxTemari person myself, but I tolerate this pairing. They look cute together and it would be interesting if it did happen.

I love this pairing. As much as Shika and Ino differ, they're still much more likely to get along than Shika and Temari.

I'm more surprised by the fact that she would commit suicide simply because others have a different opinion.
In ShikaIno's defense...
First of all, I don't get where people see it as ridiculous. ShikaInoCho have been friends for a long time due to their familial connections. It's totally possible for Ino to get attached to either Shikamaru or Chouji in a romantic way because she knows both of them inside and out. ShikaIno is cuter/more appealing to me because Ino is the kind of woman Shikamaru hates.
Then again, so is Temari. All women are the kinds Shikamaru hates. He's just a mysoginist that way.
Still, those childhood friendships provide a lot of fodder for plot bunnies in fanfiction and fanart, and those are the aspects of a pairing I like the best. I kind of dislike seemingly-canon pairings that have a likelihood to exist because they're predictable, like ShikaTem. I also dislike ShikaTem because I don't like Temari, but again, that's just me.
...And where's the connection with Chouji that Ino doesn't have with Shikamaru? I don't hate ChoujiIno, but it's a bit too popular for me to comprehend. I always get the feeling people ship that pairing because both have "nowhere else to go," which frankly, bothers the shits out of me.
ShikaIno is the best freakin' pairing in all of anime-dom. D<

I used to love this couple. Because I saw it as it being troublesome for Shikamaru. But ShikaTema is way more canon by my views. Its cute. But this is what I see.
Kishimoto does nothing but make fun of Shikamaru and the Nara family.
Temari is older, and loud, and smart. And she knows how to handle her own. Being called a b***h a lot of the time. But out of the Sunasibs, I think she was always the smartest one. Being against everything to begin with. She knows right from wrong. She also lives in Sunagakure. I see this relationship a lot like Asuma x Kurenai. Seeing as Asuma was with Kurenai and they were asked if it was a date. Kurenai blushed and said something about him just going with her for Anko dumplings.
Shikamaru is lazy. He loves to enjoy life as he sleeps. He is a tactical genius and always complains. Seeing as he asks his father alot why he married such a troublesome woman, it is only natural that Shikamaru marry someone as troublesome as them. Because Shika is going to end up just like his father. Lolx.
I dont see Shikamaru x Ino happening because of the past. Shikamaru and Ino have always acted like brother and sister, much like Naruto and Sakura, if you take out him being overly in love with her. She yells and complains and makes fun of him just like a family memeber would.
Im Pro Sai x Ino. I know its crack, but I also see a possibility of Chouji x Ino because If Shikamaru and Temari are canon, then Chouji, if someone else isnt brought in, should be with Ino. Ino being superficial, and always telling Chouji to loose weight, and that no girl would ever give him a time of day if he didnt make himself look nicer. Which would make someone thin and pretty like Ino, his opposite, to be there. Chouji was made fun of about his weight, mostly by Ino his whole life, and for Ino to fall for him would be adorable.
So that is my reason against Shikamaru and Ino. Though its cute, I see Shika X Tema going canon. And I like Sai x Ino Chou x Ino much better.

Ugh..Yeah, I totally agree with you on InoSai. People seem to forget that Sai gave her the nickname "gorgeous" because he earlier called Sakura the "witch" (or something) and then realized that girls don't like it when he's totally honest about them in anything. And I don't think Ino really has anything for Sai... More like she was pleased to recieve a complement. Regardless, it's a rather silly basis for a pairing.
InoChouji has good points too. The pictures in the InoCho thread are adorable *0* It's just that Shikamaru's my favorite character, and Ino is my favorite female character, so I like seeing them together. Plus, they tend to have some good fanworks supporting them X3
