Do not read if you're a fan of ShikaIno and get offended easily!

You know, I love ShikaTema. I'm an opposites-attract fan and I love the hints and its cannon-ness. Now, I'm not a cannon-whore at all (check my signature), but when a pairing becomes so hinted at like that I can't help but support it. I seriously do not understand how people argue that ShikaIno is cannon, in fact...

The popularity of ShikaIno/the popularity of ChouIno + ShikaTema = The reason I hate teammate pairings.

Now, I don't really hate ShikaIno the actual couple, but the actual concept of it and how its much more popular than the other two when those two are actually much more cannon!

Now, let me argue a bit. Please let me remind you that these are not the exact quotes. If you know them they would be very appreciated!

ShikaTema

1. It is only so obvious that Shikamaru would marry a troublesome and scary woman like his dad. I mean, his complaints about his mom only screams foreshadowing.
2. The time when Temari rescues Shikamaru and Shikamaru mentions "She's even scarier than my mom!" and smiles. Again linking back to #1
3. The hospital scene. I mean, Temari had no business there, its a bit random - NOT! Its a hint, I tell ya.
3. When Temari leaves. That screamed also was a pretty big hint.
4. The "date" scene. Again, even if they were on business matters, they were still caught together. Bah, the whole thing did cover a whole paper, and last time I checked that meant something meaningful happened.

Seriously peeps, ShikaTema is probably the most hinted pairing in the manga. Its not carved-in-stone cannon, but its enough so that saying ShikaIno is cannon is just BS.


ChouIno
YES, it has been hinted at. People saying this is crack need their brains scanned.
1. I'm not sure when this happened, but I clearly remember a scene - probably one of the first ones with Team ShikaInoChou where Ino scolds Chouji about eating a lot and mentions "girls like guys that are skinny", and Chouji seems to sadden. Shikamaru comforts him by telling him that "Don't worry, she'll learn not to judge by appearances some day".
That screams foreshadowing if I've ever seen it before. It also seems to hint that Chouji has feelings for Ino.
2. Ino is the only one that can call Chouji fat and get away with it.
3. I believe Ino once mentioned that girls would be all over Chouji if he was skinny - or something like that. This probably means that Ino would be attracted to him if she would learn not to judge by appearances, which Shikamaru specifically mentions she will learn not to do.
4. In one of the fillers where Ino had to pretend to be a princess and court an obese prince she isn't able to stand it in one scene and runs out. Naruto specifically says "Why don't you pretend its Chouji?". Not only did Ino "forget" to mention she'd never try to date Chouji, she even defended him! Even if it is a filler, I'm pretty sure that the animators have -some- idea of what Kishimoto is planning.
5. Last but not least, the irony of their names. Ino means "boar" - a close relative to the pig, and Chouji means "butterfly", even though its Chouji who eats a lot, and Ino is the pretty skinny girl. HINT PLZ.

ShikaIno
Sorry peeps, but I have found no actual hints for this pairing.

SaiIno
A lot of people, after giving up at ShikaIno in cannoness to ShikaTema got into this couple as the cannon Ino couple. The ironic thing is that, not only is ChouIno hinted at more than ShikaIno itself, but the only freaking reason Ino felt attracted to Sai was because he looked like Sasuke. Not only is that judging by appearances which is something Shikamaru mentions Ino will learn not to do, its also a little something I like to call deception.

Haha! I found equal hints for ChouIno and ShikaTema, excluding the filler!

But if ChoujiIno is so hinted at, why is it that it has such a little fanbase, and why did I not think about it?
The answer is simple. Like Ino, the fanbase also judges by appearances. Yeah, you heard me. Do you know why I hate old movies and even Disney ones? Because its always the ******** same: handsome/strong guy x pretty girl with a third wheel. Yes, I'm sick of that third wheel character, you know, the "the strong guy in the backround that often has his useful moments but nobody really cares about" character. Nobody cares as they're too busy obsessing over the handsome bishi/whatever character (in this case, Shikamaru) and pairing him up with the first girl they see that they don't notice that there's more hints for so-and-so other character and couple there.

What's up with hating teammate pairings?
Easy. I started thinking on how Shikamaru and Ino getting together would be totally ignoring Chouji on Kishimoto's part and "darkening" (not in personality, but in character role) him. I also ended up believing that - while not so much - it would throw off the balance in any of the teams because a romantic relationship would exclude one member. However, ChouIno is an exception to that rule. Why? Because Shikamaru being a 200 IQ genius, already surpasses his group by a milestone or two, so Chouji and Ino getting together would not really affect his role like for example; KibaHina to Shino or NejiTen to Lee.

Some people seriously need to pay attention in their English class.
