Hakutei Kyuzo

Vs.

Ayato Kamina
PostPosted: Sat Oct 07, 2006 6:56 am

Kyuzo had bided his time, awaiting when he found finally have his chance to step into the combat area and prove his worth. With that time finally come, he walked up onto the platform that would be the boundaries for his judgement battle, conducting himself in the most professional and honorable way.
Hakutei grabbed his sheathed Zanpakutou and took it out of his belt sash, holding it up formally to Captain General Yamamoto as a sign of respect, furthered by a bow of his head. He then turned to do the same for his opponent, before finally placing his weapon in it's rightful place at his right side. "We battle on behalf of the Soul Society ... if only for that reason, let us do so with all the talent and skill we both possess."

Ayato came foward and bowed as well. He then came back up and placed his right hand on his Zanpaktu and unsheathed it. "So you are my opponet. But I will not battle with my all just for soul society. I shall battle until I can have revenge on as many hollows as I can." He placed both hands on his Zanpaktu and positioned his legs. "You may make the first move."

"Hollows are nothing more than animals; they may have been humahn once, but they now are driven by instinct. You could no more seek vengence on them as you could on a bear or tiger." Kyuzo responded, following the popular belief among those born in Soul Society that nothing of the human soul remained when it became a Hollow. "If you are giving me the opening attack, then I shall take it. Binding Technique Number One: Sai!"
As Hakutei pointed his hand forward, he used the power of the most basic binding spell to paralyze the movements of his opponent; it might have seemed foolish to use such a low level spell on a Shinigami, who would have to trouble breaking it. I don't expect it to hold long ... this is merely a test of my opponent's Reiatsu. The more easily he can break this, the more serious I will have to take this fight.

Is Arms became tied around his back and he fell to the ground. He then got up and smirked. "My move." He increased his rietsu and broke through. "Your wrong. Although the weak Hollows just attack on instinct. There are some that dont even attack on instinct. They attack because of the desires of their humen selves." He took ahold of his sword and charged at Hakutai. He raised Nitemare over his head and slashed downward.

A weapon like his could easily overpower mine; it seems to be built for strength, while my Shirohi is but a mere Tanto. Speed has always been my greatest strength. A quick side step and Kyuzo managed to avoid taking any damage from the fearsome weapon of his opponent. His Zanpakutou was small, which allowed for more simplistic control; it was more like a knife at times than a sword, which made it more ideal for close quarters combat than for fighting at arms reach. Using this advantage in his favor, Hakutei thrust inward with a stabbing strike, aiming for just beneath the ribcage of Kamina's right side with a upward angled blade.

Ayato took his blade and moved it downward. It hit the blade and lowered it downward making it stab his leg instead. Then he took a gamble. "Way of distruction number 4: White Thunder" He took his left hand and shoved it towards Kyuzo's cheat as the thunder shot out.

Kyuzo pivoted his foot, altering his body's angle to avoid the attack. The white lightning, while not hitting him directly, was fast enough to rip his sleeve with it's white hot bolt, as Hakutei attempted to avoid. He uses offensive Kido as well ... i've placed most of my work in Binding Arts and Zanjutsu, which would give him an advantage from a distance. I can't attempt a Flash Blossom; even if I could, something like that would be fatal. My original techniques are limited to my Shikai, and I can't risk revealing that in only my first fight.
Kyuzo didn't wish to give away all he could do in simply the first round, just as everyone else in this tournament was likely holding back until later matches. He knew he would have to step it up a little if he ever hoped to reach another round. With that choice, he made use of his speed oriented training, and used a Shunpo, placing himself in the opponent's blindspot just behind him, where he thrust his sword backward for a stab near the tailbone.

((What my first move did was lower your blade to hit my knee instead of my rib cage.)) Ayato quickly ducked down and Kyuzo's blade was blocked by his scabbared. He flinched due to the pain in his leg but quickly turned arouned and made a horizontal slash at Kyuzo's legs.

((Sorry about that; must have misread the sentence. I fixed it now.))

Hakutei jumped over the incoming sword, in too close to risk trying to step backward. He tried to time his jump in order to place his foot on the broad side of the blade, pressing it down to prevent another swing. His timing was fair, but if his opponent caught on, he would have been able to adjust and prevent the counterattack. In case his foot could not stop the weapon, he lowered his Tanto into a defensive position, in order to protect his power from a potential sword strike.

His sword was now on the ground with Hakutei on top of it. This guy is much faster then me. My best bet is to out smart him. "Hadou number 1: Sprit Ball" A large white orb about the size of a basketball appeared in his right hand. I cant condense the rietsu, that would give him to much time to escape. He shove the orb towards Hakutei's chest if it made contact then it should give him a mild shock which would parilyze him for a few seconeds. He then used all of the strength in his right arm to lift his blade up hurling Hakutei in the air.

Kyuzo put his Zanpakutou blade in front of him, guarding against the spirit ball. He kept the sphere of reiatsu at bay, but was unable to do anything else in that time, leaving him unaware of his opponent's intentions until he was beginning to lift off the ground. Knowing what would come, he jumped off of Ayato's blade, and used all the strength he had to send the Spirit Ball back in towards it's creator, like a baseball being struck back by a bat.

((I think its based on performance.))
Ayato stopped putting energy in to the ball making it disipate. He then placed both hands on his blade. Time to up my performance. Ayato used the flash step which he has been practicing. He dissipeared and reappear a couple of seconeds later behind Kyuzo and slashed downward at his right shoulder.

In a situation like this, Kyuzo would have no problem simply grabbing the sword blade to prevent it from making it's attack, saving his arm at the cost of cutting up his hand. This was one time he could not risk that; his opponent has greater strength than he, and the attempt would likely destroy both hand and shoulder to possibly try.
It left one other possibility, however draining it would be on his Reiatsu; with little choice remaining, Hakutei used a Shunpo and vanished for a moment. Reappearing behind Ayato, Kyuzo held the tip of his sword to the back of Kamina's neck; it was probably foolish to believe he would simply surrender, especially after the serious harm that the man had already placed Kyuzo in during the course of the battle ... it was clear from the beginning that this man had no kid gloves.

"Well, I see you caught me off guard. This leaves me in a tight situation." He began lowering his blade. "That was a pretty good move back there. I should try it sometime." He then took the handle of his blade and shoved it at his opponets stomach.
