xD

http://www.nanowrimo.org

Go there if you're not sure what NaNo is.

I need some outlining help, seriously. I can't find a good program.

I am.

You don't need a program to outline - just a method. Google the snowflake method and have a look at that. Or, I forget what website I picked this up from, you can do a notecard for each scene (just anything that comes into your head - not in order) and then move the notecards around until you find your narrative order. For Nano I do 30 scenes (one a day).

I almost did this last year, but was too busy. I think I'll try this year, but not sure if I'll be able to finish it.

And as for a method... I can't really suggest one, sorry, although I think clearing your mind and relaxing might help you think easier.

It's hard for me, though. D:< I've got no organization genes whatsoever. I wanted to use www.storyright.com but you have to pay to download the software.

I'm going to try to do 2K a day, and by the 25th I should be done. But, just in case, I'll have a few days to catch up on what I missed. xD Lawlz.

The plot, though, is sort of fast paced to get it all into 50K. It's probably going to be a crappy novel but whatever. scream

Well, like it says, it doesn't matter if it's crappy (and it probably will be in such a short amount of time).

I'm thinking about starting early and using the porgram to motivate me sweatdrop I'm not too concerned about the time limit or length, just finishing my story.

I'm dying to start writing, actually.

-sigh-

What is yours going to be about?

Ooo... I think I might try that. I'm not sure, though. Depends on how November looks schedule-wise... I'll try enforcing deadlines on writing, though. Might help me get something done.

I don't have much organization either. I outline usually, but that just involves pulling out a sheet of paper and writing "chapter 1" and writing a brief(and often sarcastic) summary of what I believe will happen. Then go on to chapter two, three for, and so on until I finish the plot. *shrug* It works.

how old do you have to be to enter the 175-page 50,000 word contest? i'm thinking about entering, but i might be too young...

They have a junior-type version, I think, if you're under 13.

As for my story, I think I posted the idea in the Brainstorming section. Either way, I posted the first part of chapter 1 already...

I don't think there's an age limit at all. The "young writers program" is just if you're doing it with a class. If you're doing it on your own you can sign up for the full version at any age.

Yes, you can sign up at any age.

I hope I can push myself to do it this year.

okay good. and i allready started. XD i made some charactors and then i just couldn't help myself... and now i am really pulled in to writing it. O__o i might just start writing a new one... or i might write the whole 175 pages, but i would still have to type it up. (most up the time i write on paper and then type it up sometimes)
