I started using XBC yesterday, and it isn't bad at all. It's like xbox live, where you can play with tons of other people, by tricking the xbox into thinking it's a lan connection.
And it's free, and I think it's compatible with any game that has system link capabilities.
Only thing is you have to have a computer running at the same time as the xbox, so you need a router, maybe a crossover cable would work also.
:]
Really simple to use.
Download Here.

That was just a technical term to explain what it does. It is completely compatable with the xbox and doesn't hurt it, nor your computer, one bit.

Broadband internet is any high speed interenet.
Dsl/Cable T1 - T3 ... etc.
And, if you have a router I don't think you need a crossover cable, do you have a router?

A router is what you connect a modem to ...
It has one input plug for the modem to plug in
and 2+ output plugs for anything that needs internet, so you can have multiple internet connections going.

Note: This picture shows a router that's wireless, where the WIFI (wireless internet) lines are going towards the computer and laptop there could be wires in their place.

Oh, you're not suppose to go the 'xbox live', you go to 'system link' under multplayer ... and then choose your character, then go into the 'join game' lobby ... and it will be empty.
Then go to your computer and double click on a game on this list with whatever game you're playing and the game should appear on the not-so-empty-anymore lobby. XD Sometimes it doesn't show because there is no game made o.o
