OK , here's a feindish logic puzzle twisted
There are 4 men lined up in a firing squad facing right --->like this -
1.......2.......3......./.....4
The / is a brick wall. Each man is wearing a hat. 1 has a black hat , 2 has a green hat , 3 has a black hat , 4 has a green hat.
No man can see the hat he himself is wearing.
The executioner says that if any one man can say for certain what colour hat he is wearing , they will all go free. They can not speak to each other. They cannot take off their hats or move in any way. They know that there are 2 green hats and 2 black hats.
Man 1 can see the green hat and black hat in front of him. Man 2 can see the black hat in front. Man 3 cannot see any hat. Man 4 cannot see any hat.
Which one can say for certain what colour hat HE is wearing? The executioner will ask how the answer was arrived at , so they are not allowed to guess.
If any of you have seen this before , I trust you not to give it away biggrin

I think I get it. Because it merely says he. You are supposed to guess what color hat the executioner himself is wearing. Is that it?

umikotheblueelf What does that have to do with Final Fantasy? It can be moved to the "hangout" subforum later... If they can't move in any way, how will they give an answer? They'd move their mouths to give the answer, thus they'd be shot for moving razz

umikotheblueelf What does that have to do with Final Fantasy? You are totally right! Ermmmm.........the 4 guys are Vincent , Zell , Squall and Tidus rofl Yes , it should be moved. But for the moment , they can speak. One of the 4 must say what colour hat he himself is wearing and be correct , that is all that can be said - no other talking or communication. There is a logical solution.

What kind of hats are they wearing? If it is like a baseball cap or a top hat, they could just look up by moving their eyes but not their head... If it is a Yarmulke (that Jewish hat... I know, real odd spelling, but it's in my dictionary), then they are pretty much screwed.

Now, I can't take all the credit....me and my friend just figured this out. For those who wish to continue to try the riddle, don't read what I'm about to write in white, for I believe it is the solution.
Person 2 is the man who can without a doubt say the color. He can infer this information because #1 does not say the color. Example: If person one could see two of the same color in front of him, such as two greens, he would know that he had the opposite color (black). However, Person 1 remains silent. Thus, Person 2 must realize that Person 3 and himself must have different colors. In this case, Person 3 is wearing a black hat, so Person 2 must realize he is wearing a green hat. Otherwise, Person 1 would have spoken.
Confusing? Yes. Let's hope it's correct.

I read the white, I couldn't resist... I'd never think of that... So I got a thinker, and hope that you get it wrong!
A woman sees a man at a funeral. The woman then kills the man's sister. Why did she do this?
(If you already know this, don't answer.)

D: She committed suicide? She was the man's sister, and at the distress of losing her brother, she killed herself. razz I warned you.

Ahh, it's an even more tricky question. I thought it was a trick question, but I didn't think it was that tricky. o_O
Yeah, I figured that after I saw that I got it wrong. >_<
